OPENAI

OpenAI Is Working on an AI Hiring Platform

OpenAI plans to launch an AI-powered hiring platform called OpenAI Jobs Platform by mid-2026, moving directly into LinkedIn’s territory.

Details:

  • OpenAI’s jobs platform will ā€œuse AI to help find the perfect matches between what companies need and what workers can offer,ā€ with a dedicated track for small businesses and local governments to access top AI talent.

  • Additionally, OpenAI will start offering certifications for different levels of ā€œAI fluencyā€ through its OpenAI Academy, an online learning platform designed to teach workers how to use AI more effectively on the job.

  • The company is working with Walmart, one of the world’s largest private employers, on this certification program and aims to certify 10 million Americans by 2030.

OpenAI says it is rolling out these programs as part of its "commitment to the White House's efforts toward expanding AI literacy." Still, the move would put the company in direct competition with LinkedIn, founded by early OpenAI backer Reid Hoffman and owned by Microsoft, OpenAI’s largest funder.

MIDJOURNEY

Warner Bros. Sues Midjourney Over AI-Made Images of Superman, Batman, and More

The lawsuit alleges that the AI startup ā€œbrazenly dispensesā€ Warner Bros.’ intellectual property as if it were its own.

Details:

  • Midjourney is accused of generating ā€œcountlessā€ infringing images and videos of copyrighted characters, including Superman, Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo, and more.

  • The lawsuit claims Midjourney can produce infringing images even without directly naming characters. For example, a prompt like ā€œclassic comic book superhero battleā€ allegedly generated downloadable images of Superman, Batman, and Flash.

  • According to the complaint, the company knowingly weakened protections. It had previously restricted subscribers from creating content based on copyrighted material, but recently lifted those safeguards, ā€œchoosing profit over protecting rights holders.ā€

  • The filing seeks unspecified damages, the return of profits earned from the alleged infringement, and an injunction preventing the company from offering AI tools without copyright protections in place.

This comes a few months after Midjourney was hit with a similar copyright lawsuit from Disney and Universal, who described the company’s AI image generator as a ā€œvirtual vending machineā€ that produces ā€œendless unauthorized copiesā€ of their work.

6 prompts to use ChatGPT study mode to advance your career

ChatGPT’s Study Mode isn’t just for students, you can use it to learn faster, prepare better, and save time at work or home.

Here are 6 simple ways to try it:

  1. Master Industry Jargon

ā€œPretend you’re prepping me for a 30-minute crash course in [industry topic]. Teach me key terms, give analogies, and quiz me until I come across as knowledgeable.ā€

Use it to stay up to date, improve your knowledge, or when switching industries.

  1. Turn dense reports into briefings

ā€œBreak down this PDF into sections like a study guide: key points, potential risks, and 5 questions I should be ready to answer.ā€

Saves time when dealing with long reports or decks.

  1. Rehearse presentations with Q&A

ā€œHere’s my presentation. Pretend you are three audience types — a supporter, a critic, and a technical expert. Ask questions and evaluate my answers.ā€

Builds confidence and sharpens delivery.

  1. Onboard faster at a new job

ā€œTeach me the essentials of [company software/policies/industry] as if I were a new hire. Make flashcards, daily review questions, and realistic scenarios I might encounter.ā€

  1. Learn a new skill in micro-lessons

ā€œBreak down [new skill] into 10-minute daily lessons, each ending with a practice exercise and a self-check quiz.ā€

Perfect for busy schedules, fit learning into short breaks.

  1. Prep like a journalist or researcher

ā€œI’m interviewing an expert on [topic]. Create a study packet with background context, different viewpoints, and follow-up questions.ā€

Helps you cover every angle before an interview or meeting.

The latest in AI and Tech

OpenAI is partnering with Broadcom to build its first in-house AI chip, with mass production planned for 2026. The chip will be used internally rather than sold commercially, part of an effort to lessen reliance on Nvidia and diversify the company’s semiconductor supply chain.

The recently added ā€œPhoto to videoā€ feature in Google Photos is being enhanced with the addition of Veo 3, allowing for higher-quality video.

Now, users in the U.S. are able to turn their still images into video clips for free on the mobile app’s Create tab using the best AI video model to date.

The company has launched ā€œImagine Lens,ā€ a new feature that lets users create, edit, and re-create Snaps using text-to-image prompts.

It is available to Snapchat+ Platinum and Lens+ subscribers.

The feature works by letting users hover over any message in a ChatGPT conversation, click "More actions," and select "Branch in new chat." This will create a new conversation thread that includes all the conversation history up to that specific point, while preserving the original conversation intact.

Tesla investors will vote on whether the company should invest in Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI, a proposal pitched as a way to strengthen Tesla’s efforts in AI, robotics, and energy.

The board has taken a neutral stance, though some shareholders worry xAI could compete with Tesla’s own AI ambitions. If approved, Tesla would join SpaceX, which has already pledged $2 billion to xAI.
