Hollywood Talent Agencies Are Looking To Sign The First AI Actress "Tilly Norwood"

Tilly Norwood is the first creation from Xicoia, an AI talent studio founded by actress and producer Eline Van der Velden, whose mission is to create, manage, and monetize a new generation of hyperreal digital stars.
Details:
Van der Velden says industry attitudes toward AI have shifted rapidly, with studios that were once skeptical now showing serious interest, adding that “further announcements will come in the next few months.”
Xicoia’s AI characters are built with full backstories, distinct voices, evolving narrative arcs, and fully realized personalities, able to engage in unscripted conversations, perform monologues, respond to real-time trends, and adapt their tone and references to different platforms.
Tilly, who the company hopes will become “the next Scarlett Johansson or Natalie Portman,” made her debut in July with a comedy sketch titled AI Commissioner.
Xicoia also revealed that it is working with “several Hollywood stars who wish to appear on screen as their younger or current selves,” as well as collaborating with estates “to bring legendary performers back to the big screen.”
As expected, much of Hollywood is pushing back. Prominent actors, including Melissa Barrera, have publicly condemned the move and called for a boycott of any talent agency that chooses to sign an AI actress, while others argue that it could open possibilities for people whose creativity is limited by budget.

OPENAI
OpenAI Released GDPval to Check If AI Models Can Do Real Work

OpenAI has introduced a new benchmark, GDPval, designed to test how AI compares with human professionals across key industries.
Details:
GDPval focuses on nine major U.S. industries that contribute most to the country’s GDP — including healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and government — and evaluates 44 occupations.
The test compares AI-written reports with work produced by experienced professionals, which are then scored by other experts.
GPT-5-high matched or outperformed industry experts 40.6% of the time, compared to GPT-4o’s 13.7% just 15 months ago, showing a sharp leap in capability.
Claude Opus 4.1 also stood out with a 49% score, although OpenAI attributes its high score to its tendency to produce visually pleasing outputs rather than sheer performance.
This doesn’t mean AI models are ready to replace humans, as OpenAI acknowledges that GDPval covers only a limited set of tasks people perform in their jobs. Chief economist Aaron Chatterji says the results suggest workers in these fields may be able to offload parts of their workload to AI and focus on higher-value tasks.
