Vogue Features "AI Models" in August Edition

Vogue's August issue is turning heads with its inclusion of AI-generated models alongside real fashion items in some of its editorial shoots.
Details:
The magazine labels each AI-enhanced image with a warning explaining it was āproduced with artificial intelligence,ā alongside designer and producer credits.
The AI model appears in an advertisement for Guess, standing out for its perfect proportions and flawless features, showcasing the season's latest couture and posing in stylized backdrops. However, it is not known exactly how much of the image was created using AI.
The move has sparked some backlash online, with some readers expressing discomfort over the use of AI instead of real people.
But Vogue isnāt the first fashion powerhouse to embrace AI-generated models. Several major brands have already tested this trend in their campaigns ā like Mango, which used AI "glam models" to promote its 2024 collection, and H&M, which created AI twins of real-life models to experiment with virtual marketing.

OpenAI Set to Launch GPT-5, Its Most Advanced AI Yet

OpenAI is preparing to launch GPT-5 in early August, according to The Verge.
Details:
OpenAI has been dropping hints about GPT-5 since 2023, but encountered several problems during its development, including persistent technical issues and exorbitant costs, which led to multiple delays.
The company aims for the new model to combine the strengths of OpenAIās various AI models, delivering more advanced capabilities in a single package that can adapt based on the requestāeliminating the need for users to choose between different models or response modes.
One area where the model reportedly stands out is in coding tasks, with early testers claiming it outperforms Claude Sonnet 4 in direct comparisons.
It will reportedly be available in three versions: a standard release for ChatGPT and the API, a mini version for both platforms, and a nano version available only through the API.
Altman has heavily hyped this model, framing it as a major stepping stone toward building AGI. Expectations are highāand weāll soon see whether it lives up to them.

Googleās Gemini app now lets users generate and play AI-powered, podcast-style summaries of documents directly within the app on both Android and iOS.
Uploading a document or slide deck to Gemini on the mobile app (or the web) now triggers a āGenerate Audio Overviewā option.
After generating an Audio Overview, you can find the audio file in your chat or notification history.
Tap on the Audio Overview. Instead of redirecting you to a browser, the Gemini app now opens a dedicated audio player interface.
You can use the built-in controls to play, pause, rewind, or skip forward in 10-second increments, and adjust playback speed using the controls on the left side of the player.
Download the audio file directly from the player if you want offline access or prefer to listen later.
The AI podcast draws out key points, summarizes content, and explores connections between topicsāproviding a richer understanding than a simple text summary.
