ANTHROPIC

Anthropic Releases Mythos-Class AI Model to Enterprise and Paid Users

Anthropic has launched Claude Fable 5, a new AI model with capabilities comparable to its previously restricted Mythos system, marking a major expansion of access after months of limiting the technology to select organizations.

Details:

  • The company says the wider rollout is possible thanks to new safeguards that block responses in specific high-risk areas, including cybersecurity and biology.

  • When users request information that could enable harmful activities, the model is designed to refuse or redirect the request, falling back to a safer model when necessary.

  • Anthropic claims Claude Fable 5 delivers significant improvements in software engineering and knowledge work, outperforming Claude Opus 4.8 by more than 10% on some benchmarks.

  • Anthropic also rolled out Claude Mythos 5 to Project Glasswing partners, describing it as the same model as Claude Fable 5 but with cyber safeguards lifted, offering comparable performance to Mythos Preview at "substantially" lower cost.

Claude Fable 5 is positioned as a premium offering at double the price of Opus 4.8, but Anthropic argues customers aren't just looking for lower costs, they want "higher accuracy and higher benefit for the money they spend." So far, the company says, early customers are backing that up.

OPENAI

Sam Altman Outlines OpenAI’s ‘Third Phase’ for the AI Era

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Chief Scientist Jakub Pachocki say the company is entering its third phase, shifting its focus from building advanced AI to making the technology abundant, accessible, and safe.

Details:

  • OpenAI describes its history in three phases: research toward advanced AI, releasing products like ChatGPT and learning from real-world use, and now a third phase focused on broad deployment and impact.

  • The company says its next challenge is making advanced AI abundant, affordable, safe, and easy to use, ensuring that both individuals and organizations can benefit from the technology.

  • OpenAI outlined three major goals for this phase: building an automated AI researcher, accelerating economic growth through AI, and eventually providing every person with access to a personal AGI.

  • Altman and Pachocki emphasized that AI systems should remain under human control, warning that entirely automating everything would be dangerous.

  • They also stressed that the benefits of advanced AI should be widely distributed rather than concentrated among a small number of companies or institutions.

OpenAI also renewed its call for international coordination on AI development, including the possibility of a global organization dedicated to managing risks from increasingly powerful AI, one that could slow down the development of frontier models if needed.

AI Tutorial

Create Interactive Charts Instantly with ChatGPT

  1. Go to ChatGPT and sign in.

  2. Add your prompt and upload your documents (optional).

You can ask for a chart directly, or ChatGPT may include one when it helps make trends and comparisons easier to understand.

Examples:

  • "What are the top 10 countries by GDP in the world?"

  • "Compare the average life expectancy of the G7 countries."

  • "I uploaded a CSV with survey results. Visualize the responses as a pie chart."

  • "Based on the data I uploaded, create a line chart showing the trend over time."

The new capability is available on mobile and web.
