OpenAI Launches GPT Image 1.5, Its New Flagship Image Generator
OpenAI has rolled out a major upgrade to its image generation tools, introducing a new flagship model and a redesigned interface aimed at faster, more precise, and more practical visual creation.

OpenAI unveiled GPT Image 1.5, a new image generation model that follows instructions more accurately, supports more precise photo editing, and generates images up to four times faster than previous versions.
The update improves how the system interprets user intent, especially when editing existing images, enabling more realistic clothing and hairstyle try-ons, cleaner edits, and transformations that preserve the core of the original image.
They consider the new model to be a big leap when it comes to text rendering, now capable of handling denser and smaller text.
OpenAI is also adding a dedicated home for Images in ChatGPT that includes preset styles, filters, trending prompts, and creative inspiration, making image exploration and creation faster and easier.
The startup is positioning the release as a tool for real-world and enterprise use, moving beyond novelty toward practical applications such as product visuals, marketing assets, and everyday image edits.
The launch comes as competition in AI image generation intensifies, following the viral momentum of rival tools like Google’s Nano Banana. The model is available to all users starting today, while the previous version of ChatGPT Images, which launched earlier this year, will remain available as a custom GPT.

Mozilla’s New CEO Says AI Is Coming to Firefox
Mozilla has named Anthony Enzor-DeMeo as its new CEO and is now preparing for a major push to evolve Firefox as AI reshapes how people interact with the web.

Enzor-DeMeo takes over at a time when browsers are facing new competition from AI-first players like Perplexity, Arc, OpenAI, and Opera, all of which are embedding AI directly into the browsing experience.
Mozilla confirmed it will invest in AI and bring AI features to Firefox, but emphasized that these capabilities will remain optional, allowing users to easily turn them off.
The company says transparency will be a priority, with users able to understand why AI features work the way they do and what value they provide.
The appointment follows a challenging period for Mozilla, which recently restructured, reduced its workforce, and scaled back advocacy and global programs.
Enzor-DeMeo, previously general manager of Firefox, replaces interim CEO Laura Chambers as Mozilla looks to compete in a new wave of browser innovation without abandoning the principles that attracted privacy-focused users in the first place.

The update includes automatic follow-up prompt suggestions that appear after a task finishes. The company also launched a first-party plugins marketplace, allowing users to browse and install plugins directly via a command. In addition, Max subscribers can now share guest passes that grant friends one week of free Pro access.
OpenAI has rolled back ChatGPT’s automated model router for users on its Free and $5 Go tiers. The router, introduced earlier this year, was designed to automatically send complex queries to more advanced models but ended up increasing costly usage among free users who will now get responses from GPT-5.2 Instant by default, the fastest and cheapest of the new models.
San Francisco–based robotics firm Foundation says it aims to manufacture up to 50,000 humanoid robots by the end of 2027, targeting both military and industrial use. Its Phantom MK-1 humanoid is designed for high-risk roles such as reconnaissance, bomb disposal, and hazardous ground operations, with the company positioning robots as the “first body in” during dangerous missions to reduce risk to human soldiers.
The new benchmark is designed to measure how well AI models handle advanced scientific problems in physics, chemistry, and biology. Results show rapid progress, with GPT-5.2 leading performance, especially on Olympiad-level questions, though gains on open-ended research tasks remain limited.
