THINKING MACHINES LAB
Mira Murati's Thinking Machines Debuts First AI Model

Thinking Machines Lab has released Inkling, its first AI model, making it open-weight and betting that enterprises will want AI they can customize rather than simply rent from a handful of frontier labs.
Details:
Inkling is an open-weight mixture-of-experts model with 975 billion total parameters and 41 billion active parameters per task, allowing developers to download, fine-tune, and deploy it for their own use cases.
The model was trained on 45 trillion tokens spanning text, images, audio, and video. While it can reason across all four modalities, it currently only generates text-based outputs, including code and structured data.
Thinking Machines says Inkling is designed to provide more calibrated responses, including expressing uncertainty when appropriate, and lets users adjust its reasoning effort to balance speed and performance.
According to AI benchmarking platform Artificial Analysis, Inkling debuts with a score of 41 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. That makes it the leading open-weights model from a U.S. lab.
Rather than positioning Inkling as the industry's most powerful model, the company says its focus is on creating a flexible foundation that organizations can adapt through its customization platform, Tinker.
The full weights are available on Hugging Face.

Meet America’s Newest $1B Unicorn
A US startup just hit a $1 billion private valuation, joining billion-dollar private companies like SpaceX, OpenAI, and ByteDance. Unlike those other unicorns, you can invest in EnergyX.
Over 50,000 people already have. So have industry giants like General Motors and POSCO.
Why all the interest? EnergyX’s patented tech can recover up to 3X more lithium than traditional methods. That's a big deal, as demand for lithium is expected to 5X current production levels by 2040. Today, they’re moving toward commercial production, tapping into 100,000+ acres of lithium deposits in Chile, a potential $1.1B annual revenue opportunity at projected market prices.
Right now, you can invest at this pivotal growth stage for $13/share. But only through July 16. Become an early-stage EnergyX shareholder before the deadline.
Energy Exploration Technologies, Inc. (“EnergyX”) has engaged Beehiiv to publish this communication in connection with EnergyX’s ongoing Regulation A offering. OPENAI
OpenAI Launches a $230 Keyboard for Codex

OpenAI is officially entering the hardware market with the launch of Codex Micro, a $230 limited-edition keyboard designed to work with its AI coding assistant, Codex.
Details:
The Codex Micro, created in collaboration with keyboard maker Work Louder, is designed as a control hub for AI coding workflows.
The keyboard features Agent Keys that display the status of AI coding agents, customizable Command Keys for shortcuts, and a joystick for launching common Codex workflows.
It also includes a dedicated dial that lets users adjust an agent's reasoning level, allowing them to balance speed and computational effort for different coding tasks.
OpenAI says the Codex Micro is a limited-run collaboration, signaling that it's more of a novelty item than a product designed for mass appeal, a flashy way to mark the company's entrance into the hardware market.

How to Transfer the Style of One Image to Another

Open ChatGPT and select Create Image.
Upload two images: a style reference (the image whose look you want to copy) and a target image (the image you want to transform).
Enter a prompt such as:
"Apply the visual style, lighting, and composition of the first image to the second image."
Review the result and, if needed, refine it with follow-up prompts.

A group of 26 current and former Meta employees has sued the company, alleging its AI-driven layoff process disproportionately targeted workers who had taken protected medical, parental, or family leave, or requested disability accommodations, during its 2026 layoffs. A reported hack has revealed details about how Suno built its AI music models, including references to data collected from publicly accessible sources such as YouTube Music, Deezer, Genius, Jamendo, and other music libraries.
The company has open-sourced the Grok Build CLI following criticism that the coding tool was uploading users’ entire code repositories to company-controlled cloud storage. The company says it has now deleted customer data, and disabled data retention by default for all users.
