OPENAI

OpenAI Expands ChatGPT Go Worldwide and Confirms Ads Are Coming

Details:

  • ChatGPT Go is now available in more than 170 countries, expanding from its initial launch in India, where it debuted as a low-cost plan. In the U.S., the tier is priced at $8 per month.

  • During the test, ads will appear only for logged-in adult users in the US on the free and Go tiers. Pro, Business, and Enterprise users will continue to have an ad-free experience.

  • Ads will be clearly labeled, shown separately from chatbot responses, and typically appear at the bottom of answers when relevant to the conversation.

  • The company said users will be able to learn more about why they’re seeing a specific ad, dismiss ads and submit feedback about the experience.

  • It assured users that ads will not influence ChatGPT’s responses, will not involve selling user data to advertisers, and will not appear alongside certain topics, including politics and health, such as mental health.

There has long been debate about whether ads would come to ChatGPT. Early on, Sam Altman publicly expressed reservations, saying advertising could erode user trust in OpenAI’s products. In recent months, however, that position has changed as the company increasingly views ads as a viable way to support its ambitious spending, as digital advertising has long been the cash cow for other big tech companies like Google and Meta.

AVERI

Former OpenAI Policy Chief Launches Institute for Independent AI Safety Audits

Miles Brundage, who led policy research at OpenAI for seven years, has founded the AI Verification and Evaluation Research Institute (AVERI), a nonprofit focused on independent audits of frontier AI systems.

Details:

  • Brundage left OpenAI in October 2024, where he advised on how the company should prepare for the development of artificial general intelligence.

  • AVERI is pushing for external, third-party safety evaluations, arguing that AI companies currently set their own rules and publish self-reported safety testing with limited outside oversight.

  • The institute has raised $7.5 million so far and is targeting $13 million to support a team of 14 staff members. Funders include former Y Combinator president Geoff Ralston, the AI Underwriting Company, and employees from leading AI labs.

  • Alongside its launch, Brundage and more than 30 AI safety and governance experts published a paper proposing “AI Assurance Levels,” ranging from today’s limited third-party testing to “treaty-grade” audits that could support international agreements.

  • Brundage argues that insurers, investors, and large enterprise customers could force adoption of independent audits by making them a requirement for coverage, investment, or procurement, even without government mandates.

This effort reflects growing unease inside the AI industry and signals rising pressure for enforceable, independent oversight as AI systems become more powerful.

7 ChatGPT prompts to turn ChatGPT into your side hustle partner

Use these prompts to build a $5K/month income stream:

  1. Find the best side-hustle for you (high-confidence picks + proof plan)

Prompt:

"You are my ruthless side-hustle advisor. Ask me up to 10 clarifying questions MAX (only the highest-leverage ones). Then, using my answers, generate 12 side-hustle options ranked by: speed to revenue, difficulty, start-up cost, demand strength, and fit to my skills.

For each option include:

- Ideal customer + where they hang out

- The urgent pain it solves (in the customer’s words)

- What I would sell (1-sentence offer)

- Expected price range + why

- The fastest channel to first customers

- A 72-hour validation test with exact actions + success criteria

Finally, recommend the top 2 and explain why they win."
  1. Market research that actually produces an angle (not generic “niche ideas”)

Prompt:

"Act as a market research analyst for [niche]. Produce a one-page market brief that includes:

- Who buys and why (top 3 buyer types + triggers)

- Top 10 competitors (products/services/creators) with pricing and positioning - Common customer complaints/praise patterns (from reviews/comments you’d expect to see)

- The ‘table stakes’ features customers assume

- 5 underserved segments and the exact unmet need for each

- 10 differentiated angles I could own (positioning statements)

- A recommendation: the single best wedge for a beginner to enter and why

Output everything in a structured table + a short summary."
  1. Turn any idea into a premium offer people pay for

Prompt:

"You are a direct-response offer architect. Take this idea: [idea]. Turn it into a clear, outcome-based offer.

Deliver:

- 3 offer versions: productized service, digital product, and hybrid

- For each: deliverables, timeline, success metric, and what’s excluded

- 3-tier pricing (Starter/Pro/VIP) with anchored pricing logic

- Risk reversal (guarantee options) that are safe + realistic

- ‘Why you / why now’ positioning

- A single core promise and 5 supporting proof bullets (what evidence I can create quickly)

- A list of 10 objections and the best rebuttal for each

Make it specific, not fluffy."

Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis said Chinese AI models are now only “a matter of months” behind U.S. and Western systems, pushing back on claims that China is far behind.

However, he also noted that Chinese companies have yet to demonstrate the ability to achieve AI breakthroughs. Hassabis said the gap is less about chip access and more about scientific mindset, emphasizing that inventing new architectures is far harder than catching up.

South Koreans now spend more each month on AI subscriptions than on Netflix, with payments for major AI services reaching about 80.3 billion won in December 2025, compared with Netflix’s roughly 75 billion won monthly average in 2024. The AI total includes both consumer and business spending, while Netflix’s figure reflects consumer subscriptions only.

ChatGPT accounted for more than 70% of AI payments, with Gemini and Claude trailing behind.
