OPENAI

OpenAI and Microsoft Restructure Deal, Drop AGI Clause

OpenAI and Microsoft have updated their long-standing partnership, introducing more flexible terms and removing key restrictions. The updated deal simplifies the partnership, replacing uncertain, hypothetical conditions with clearer and more predictable terms.

Details:

  • The revised agreement ends exclusivity, allowing OpenAI to go beyond Microsoft’s Azure and “serve all its products to customers across any cloud provider.”

  • Microsoft remains a key partner, with OpenAI’s products continuing to launch first on Azure, but it now has the option to choose which capabilities it supports.

  • A major change is the removal of the AGI clause, which previously outlined complex scenarios based on which company might achieve artificial general intelligence first.

  • Microsoft will still have access to OpenAI’s models through 2032, but the license is now non-exclusive, opening the door for OpenAI to offer its models and tools to companies such as Amazon and Google.

  • Microsoft will no longer pay a revenue share to OpenAI, though OpenAI will have to continue making revenue-sharing payments to Microsoft through 2030.

The companies cited “rapid pace of innovation” and the evolving landscape as the reason behind the changes. OpenAI gains more flexibility to expand its commercial reach, while Microsoft can better manage its resources and strategic priorities.

Google Reportedly Signs Classified AI Deal with US Pentagon

Google has reportedly entered a classified agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense, allowing its AI models to be used for “any lawful government purpose.”

Details:

  • The agreement reportedly states that Google gets no "right to control or veto lawful government operational decision-making."

  • While both sides acknowledge restrictions (such as avoiding mass surveillance or autonomous weapons without human oversight), these safeguards may be little more than voluntary commitments rather than legally binding obligations.

  • A Google spokesperson said the company believes that providing controlled API access to its models, with industry-standard practices and terms, is a responsible way to support national security.

The news comes just one day after hundreds of Google employees sent a letter to the company's CEO demanding the Pentagon be blocked from using the company's AI for classified work.

How to Make a Stunning Visual Biography with AI

Go to ChatGPT and use this prompt:

Create a high-end, visually rich infographic poster about [PERSON NAME] that feels like a professionally authored editorial feature rather than a standard biography page. Before designing, research and synthesize the subject’s biography, major achievements, career milestones, design or technology philosophy, signature works, and lasting influence, prioritizing accurate, specific, and meaningful details over generic facts. The composition should be anchored by a detailed, photorealistic central portrait, with surrounding visual storytelling elements radiating outward in a balanced, readable layout. Include a compact visual timeline of key life and career moments, annotated callouts explaining major achievements, diagrams or visual systems that show the subject’s ideas, process, influence, or legacy, references to important products, inventions, projects, or designs, and one or two short, meaningful quotes or philosophy statements. Use concise text blocks with strong hierarchy and clear labels, avoiding generic headings like “Early Life,” “Career,” and “Legacy”; instead, organize the information through layered visuals, arrows, captions, data cards, icons, product sketches, and structured callouts. The visual style should combine bold graphic illustration with photorealistic detail, using a clean readable background, geometric shapes, icons, color blocking, subtle texture, and layered depth to create a dense but organized, tactile, premium editorial feel. Use a cohesive color palette inspired by the subject’s field, era, products, or design language, and maintain an intelligent, polished, historically informed tone that communicates not only what the subject did, but why their work mattered.
