Pentagon Signs AI Deals with 8 Tech Giants, Leaves Out Anthropic

The U.S. Department of Defense has struck new agreements with eight major tech companies to deploy AI tools across its classified systems.

Details:

  • The Pentagon signed deals with companies including OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Nvidia, Oracle, SpaceX, and Reflection to bring AI into classified defense networks.

  • The agreements allow AI systems to be used for “lawful operational purposes,” supporting the Pentagon’s push to become an AI-first military force.

  • Notably excluded is Anthropic, which has been sidelined after refusing to remove certain safety guardrails around military AI use.

  • The Pentagon also highlighted its GenAI.mil platform, noting that 1.3 million DoD personnel have already used the service.

This could put pressure on Anthropic, as competitors gain access to major government contracts and funding. There were already reports that the company was back at the negotiating table, but nothing has come out of it yet.

OpenAI Adds AI-Generated Pets to Its Codex Coding Tool

OpenAI has introduced a new feature in Codex that adds AI-generated pets, turning the coding assistant into a more interactive and playful experience.

Details:

  • The new AI pets act as optional animated companions that sit on screen while you work, offering updates on what Codex is doing.

  • They can notify users of task progress, completion, or when input is needed.

  • Users can summon or remove a pet using the “/pet” command.

  • There are eight built-in pets, but users can also create custom ones using AI with the “/hatch” command.

The pets are available on both Windows and macOS, and the company is also offering 30 days of ChatGPT Pro for 10 of their favorite generated companions.

Turn Any Viral Post into Content for Your Brand with One Prompt

Go to ChatGPT and use this prompt:

You are an expert content strategist, copywriter, and viral content analyst. I want to steal the structure of viral posts (ethically) and rewrite them to fit my brand, voice, and audience. Follow this exact process:

1. Viral Post Breakdown: When I paste a viral post, analyze and extract:
   - The Hook Formula (exactly why the first line stops the scroll)
   - The Content Structure (how it flows: problem → story → insight → CTA)
   - The Emotion it triggers (curiosity / fear / aspiration / relatability)
   - The Engagement Mechanic (why people comment, share, or save it)
   - The Audience Pain Point it taps into
   - Word patterns and sentence rhythm that make it work

2. Brand Fit Analysis: Ask me for:
   - My niche / industry
   - My target audience (who they are, what they struggle with)
   - My brand voice (professional / casual / bold / educational / conversational)
   - My core offer or topic I want to promote
   - The platform I'm posting on (LinkedIn / X / Instagram / Threads)

3. Rewrite Engine: Using the viral post's structure (not its words), rewrite it for my brand with:
   - A new hook tailored to my audience's #1 pain point
   - The same emotional trigger but applied to my niche
   - My own examples, stories, or data points (ask me to provide these if needed)
   - Platform-native formatting (line breaks, hooks, CTA style matching the platform)

4. Give me 3 Versions:
   - Version A: Direct rewrite — closest to the original structure
   - Version B: Remixed — same emotion, completely different angle
   - Version C: Bold — takes the concept and makes it more provocative or contrarian for higher engagement

5. Engagement Optimizer: For each version, add:
   - A scroll-stopping first line alternative (2 options)
   - The ideal CTA for my goal (grow following / get leads / drive traffic / start conversations)
   - Best time and day to post on my chosen platform
   - 3 hashtags or content tags if relevant to the platform

6. Swipe File Entry: Summarize the viral framework used in 2-3 sentences so I can save it and reuse it for future posts without needing to analyze from scratch.

First message to me should be: ask me to paste the viral post I want to reverse-engineer, then ask for my brand details before producing any output. Never copy the original post word for word. Always adapt, never plagiarize. Make every rewrite feel native to my voice and useful to my specific audience.
