AI AT WORK

Most Gen Z Knowledge Workers Now Use AI, Survey Finds

Artificial intelligence is no longer a futuristic concept—it's a present-day reality, especially for young professionals. A recent survey by Google Workspace reveals that Gen Z and millennial leaders are at the forefront of integrating AI into their daily work routines.

Details:

  • They surveyed over 1,000 U.S. full-time knowledge workers aged 22 to 39 who have or plan to hold a leadership position at work.

  • A significant 82% of young leaders are using AI tools in their work. This trend is even more pronounced among Gen Z, with 93% using multiple AI tools weekly.

  • A majority (86%) believe AI can enhance leadership skills and make managers more effective, while an overwhelming 98% anticipate AI will significantly influence their industry within the next five years.

  • Many respondents claim they use AI to start tasks that feel overwhelming, improve their writing, and take notes, which helps them stay productive on the go.

While AI tools can streamline tasks and increase productivity, many companies, including JPMorgan Chase and Apple, have imposed restrictions on their use, mainly due to the risks posed by "hallucinations."

AI RESEARCH

Researchers Built AI Agents That Accurately Predict Human Behavior

Researchers from Stanford, Washington University, and Google DeepMind have created a new method to simulate human behavior and attitudes using AI agents based on interview transcripts.

Details:

  • The AI agents can predict human behavior with 85% accuracy in social experiments.

  • They were developed using interview data from over 1,000 individuals, representing a diverse cross-section of the U.S. population in terms of age, gender, education, and political views.

  • The dataset of 1,000 AI agents is available on GitHub.

The study suggests that such simulations could act as a testing ground for theories in areas like economics, sociology, organizational studies, and political science.

How to use RunwayLM's new "Expand Video" tool

This new feature allows you to transform videos into new aspect ratios by generating new areas around your input video.

*Note: It is gradually rolling out and will soon be available to everyone in Gen-3 Alpha Turbo.

  1. Go to the RunwayML and sign in.

  2. Select "Generate Video" and choose the Gen-3 Alpha Turbo model.

  1. Click on “Expand Video”

  2. f you upload a horizontal video, the model will automatically default into turning it into a vertical video.

  3. You’ll have a few options:

a) Click the Generate button without providing a text prompt.

b) Provide a detailed text prompt telling the model what you’re hoping to see in the parts of the frame that aren’t visible. For example: “A man standing in a cave with a molten lava pool in the foreground and rock formations overhead.”

c) Provide the model with an outpainted image of the first frame of your video

The feature works best when:

  • Your subject is close to the center of the frame

  • There are no graphics or text present in the video

  • You use a text prompt to help guide the generation.
