OpenAI Will Soon Allow Mature Content on ChatGPT
OpenAI has announced plans to release an updated version of ChatGPT, along with a more comprehensive age-gating system designed to give users greater control over how the chatbot interacts with them.

Sam Altman said ChatGPT had previously been “pretty restrictive” to protect users dealing with mental health issues but acknowledged that this approach made the chatbot “less useful or enjoyable” for many others.
With new safeguards to better detect and respond when users are experiencing mental distress, OpenAI now plans to "safely relax" many of these restrictions.
In the coming weeks, OpenAI will release a version of ChatGPT that allows users to better dictate the chatbot’s tone and personality.
“If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it,” said Altman.
In December, the company will roll out more comprehensive age-gating that will give verified adult users even more freedom, including the option for ChatGPT to generate erotic content.
This follows recent reports that OpenAI plans to allow developers to create “mature” applications within ChatGPT as well.
There are still no details on the new age verification methods or additional safeguards planned for adult content, and it remains to be seen how well OpenAI balances user choice with safety and compliance across different regions. Still, the company seems to believe there is a considerable market for it, enough to make the effort worthwhile.

Google Announces Veo 3.1 and Flow Updates
Google announced Veo 3.1 as its latest video generation model, with the company’s Flow AI filmmaking tool receiving several updates to take advantage of its new capabilities.
Details:
The new model offers improved audio quality, better prompt adherence, enhanced image-to-video output, and more realistic video generation.
Google is adding audio support to existing Flow features such as Ingredients to Video, Scene Extension, and Frames to Video.
Flow is also gaining new editing capabilities, allowing users to add objects that blend naturally with a video’s style, with object removal support coming soon.
The model is now accessible in the Flow editor, the Gemini app, and through the Vertex and Gemini APIs.

The latest in AI and Tech
The startup reportedly aims to spend over $1 trillion developing superintelligent AI, far exceeding its current $13 billion in annual revenue.
To fund this goal, the company plans to expand through shopping tools, consumer devices, online ads, Sora sales, and government contracts.
The models are available in 4B and 8B pairs, each with both Instruct and Thinking variants, and the company claims they outperform models such as Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite and GPT-5 Nano, despite their small size.
Minister Minoru Kiuchi called the works “irreplaceable treasures” and explained that the government had contacted OpenAI through its Intellectual Property Strategy Office, urging the company to respect copyright law.
This came after the Sora platform was flooded with AI-generated videos featuring characters from iconic series such as Dragon Ball, Bleach, and Naruto.
The company is letting users decide whether they want to use AI to search the web and find information.
Perplexity is available to Firefox users worldwide on desktop and will roll out to mobile devices in the coming months.
Walmart is partnering with OpenAI to enable customers and Sam's Club members to buy items directly through ChatGPT.
After linking their Walmart accounts, users can browse, plan meals, restock essentials, and check out instantly with a “buy” button in the app.
