OpenAI Launches New 'Tasks' Feature in ChatGPT 🔥

OpenAI has rolled out a new tasks feature that lets Plus, Team, and Pro users schedule reminders, daily updates, and recurring tasks.
Details:
Tasks work with all versions of ChatGPT and send notifications through desktop, web, and mobile. However, users can access the task manager only on the web version of ChatGPT.
It has some limitations. While ChatGPT can browse the web on a schedule, it will not run continuous searches in the background or make purchases.
OpenAI says the beta period will help it understand how people use tasks before making the feature available on its mobile app and ChatGPT's free tier.
This new feature appears to offer a glimpse into AI models that can handle complex tasks independently, also known as AI agents.

Microsoft Study Reveals AI Security Gaps

Microsoft’s AI security team has spent the past few years testing over 100 generative AI tools, uncovering surprising vulnerabilities and ethical challenges.
Details:
Their findings show that hackers don’t need advanced algorithms or complex math to exploit AI systems. Instead, simple approaches, like hiding harmful instructions within image text, can be more effective than sophisticated ones at bypassing safety measures.
Automated tools like PyRIT help detect vulnerabilities, but human judgment is essential for testing sensitive situations, such as mental health-related chatbot interactions and AI bias.
AI integration into everyday apps has also created fresh security challenges. For example, language models can be manipulated to produce fraud scenarios, even combining with text-to-speech for realistic scams.
The team found that unintentional harmful content generated during normal use could be even more concerning than deliberate attacks, as it exposes gaps in current safety measures.
Microsoft emphasizes the need for continuous testing, regulations, and financial disincentives to make attacks more difficult and costly for hackers.

How to Set Up Scheduled Tasks in ChatGPT

As mentioned before, the feature is only available to Plus, Team and Pro users.
Go to ChatGPT's website, click on your profile icon, and select "Tasks" from the menu.
Select from suggested tasks or create your own by entering a specific promp.
Once your task is submitted, ChatGPT will confirm the setup and allow you to customize notifications. Choose between push alerts, emails, or both, depending on your preferences.
Manage your tasks: To view, edit, or pause a task, go back to the Tasks menu. With just a few clicks, you can modify schedules or delete tasks as needed.
Tips:
Be specific in your instructions: Include details on what you want and what you don’t want to be included.
Outline exactly how you want the information to be displayed.
