OpenAI, Microsoft in Talks to Reset High-Stakes Partnership

OpenAI is currently in “a tough negotiation” with one of its biggest investors and partners, Microsoft, according to the Financial Times.

Details:

  • OpenAI recently announced changes to its corporate structure, retaining its nonprofit board while converting its business arm into a for-profit public benefit corporation. However, Microsoft’s approval is seen as crucial for the restructuring to move forward.

  • A key sticking point in the talks is how much equity Microsoft will hold in OpenAI’s future PBC, with sources saying Microsoft is willing to give up some of its stake—but only if it gets access to new technology even after 2030.

  • Even though Microsoft has already invested $13 billion in OpenAI, their relationship has grown tense, making the negotiations more complicated. Sources say this tension is exacerbated by the Stargate project and the competition for enterprise customers.

Without a deal, OpenAI’s restructuring could collapse, putting it in conflict with other investors like SoftBank, Thrive Capital, and Altimeter Capital, who invested with the expectation of receiving equity once OpenAI transitions to a PBC.

The Science City You Didn’t Know You Needed to Visit

Did you know that the World Wide Web was born in Geneva, Switzerland? Indeed, the first version of the Internet cropped up at CERN in 1989. Today the world-renowned center is home to the largest particle accelerator and to the CERN Science Gateway – a must-see hub for science enthusiasts that features hands-on exhibits, immersive virtual reality experiences, and live demonstrations.

Pope Leo Identifies AI as a Main Challenge for Humanity

The new Pope Leo XIV has held his first meeting with the world’s cardinals since his election as the head of the Catholic Church, identifying AI as one of the most crucial issues facing humanity.

Details:

  • The new pope chose his papal name in reference to Pope Leo XIII (1810-1903) who presided over the Catholic Church during the Industrial Revolution, which ushered in massive social upheaval.

  • He sees the AI boom as a similar moment of rapid societal change.

  • Pope Francis, Leo's predecessor, had already warned about the technology, highlighting the risks of its misuse and reflecting on the dangers of it replacing human interaction.

  • Leo XIII said the Church would act as a guide in response to "developments in the field of artificial intelligence that pose new challenges for the defense of human dignity, justice, and labor."

That the highest authority of a religion with billions of believers worldwide gives such importance to AI shows it has moved beyond a niche topic and is now a global concern, as modern society prepares for the changes it brings.

5 Claude prompts to boost your productivity

*Note: A recent update allows Claude to connect directly to apps like Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar, but this feature is currently only available to paid users.

1. Calendar Analysis

Connect your Google Calendar to Claude so it can access your schedule. After a quick setup, you can ask it to review how you’re spending your time.

Claude can highlight patterns, flag timing issues, and suggest smarter ways to organize your week.

Use this prompt to get started:

"Help me boost my productivity for July 2025. Review my calendar and provide an overview of the month. Highlight any conflicts and give me a warning of any possible issues.

Suggest ways I can better organize my weeks. Point out which days are likely to be the most hectic."

2. Brainstorming help

This one’s great for when your ideas are all over the place. Transform chaos into clarity, making brainstorming feel productive instead of overwhelming.

Try this:

"Turn this messy brainstorm into a clear outline or actionable steps: [insert list of ideas or raw thoughts]."

3. Road to Inbox Zero

Once you connect Gmail, it can quickly identify unread or unreplied messages, organize them by importance, and even suggest reply drafts. You’ll spend less time digging and more time doing.

Use this prompt:

"Go through my Gmail. Find the emails I haven’t replied to yet and list them in descending order of importance. Suggest draft replies for each."

4. Document Review

Need to prep for a meeting? Claude can quickly review past minutes, catch key points, and even spot inconsistencies.

If your notes are in Google Drive, Claude can analyze them without manual uploads.

Try this:

"I’m attaching files containing meeting minutes. Go through the documents and highlight key points that appear in multiple meetings. Identify if there are any contradictory points noted in the meeting minutes and highlight them. Suggest any topics of discussion for the next meeting."

5. Schedule Planner

Now that Claude can analyze your calendar, email, and documents, it’s time to pull it all together.

Ask Claude to find meetings you should book or action items you’ve missed. Then have it help you build a well-balanced weekly schedule that avoids conflicts and fits your priorities.

Claude can’t create events in your calendar yet, but you can use this simple workaround:

"Based on the schedule that we’ve just created, create an HTML website from which I can download each event in .ics format."

Download each calendar event and import them into your calendar, and you’re good to go.
