OpenAI Raises $122 Billion to Build AI Superapp
OpenAI announced it closed a $122 billion funding round on Tuesday at a post-money valuation of $852 billion, marking the company's largest funding round to date by far.
Details:
Key backers include Amazon, Nvidia, SoftBank, and Microsoft, along with a16z, Sequoia Capital, and several other investors.
In a first for the company, it raised more than $3 billion from individual investors through bank channels.
OpenAI took the opportunity to officially announce they are working on a unified AI "superapp" that will bring together ChatGPT, Codex, browsing, and agentic capabilities into one experience.
OpenAI revealed it has crossed 900 million weekly active ChatGPT users and is currently generating $2 billion in revenue each month, with Enterprise sales now making up 40% of its revenue, a figure expected to increase to 50% by year's end.

Anthropic Leaked Its Own Claude Code Source Code by Mistake
Anthropic accidentally exposed a massive portion of its internal codebase, revealing how its AI coding tools work and what's coming next. This comes just a week after another leak revealed its new "Mythos" model.
Details:
A debugging file was mistakenly included in a public update, linking to a cloud archive with nearly 500,000 lines of source code across about 2,000 files.
The leak revealed part of the internal source code for its popular AI coding assistant, Claude Code, as well as unreleased features like a persistent assistant running in the background and tools that let Claude review past sessions to improve future performance.
Anthropic said no sensitive user data was exposed and blamed the incident on human error, ruling out a security breach. The company says it is "rolling out measures to prevent this from happening again."
The code spread quickly online, giving competitors insight into how it built the viral coding tool and even a detailed unreleased feature roadmap. It also comes at a particularly bad time as Anthropic has been on a meteoric rise lately, and now raises questions about operational security at a company that sells itself as the safety-first AI lab.

How to use Claude to build, edit, and refine presentations
Install the "Claude by Anthropic in PowerPoint" add-in from the Microsoft Marketplace.
Once installed, go to PowerPoint and you'll find Claude in the add-ins section. Click on it and it will open a sidebar.
From there you can create slides from scratch, on-brand slides based on your existing template, or make edits to existing slides, all using natural language prompts.
Example: "Create a presentation based on this marketing campaign brief for our new product launch. I need about 12 slides covering target audience, campaign strategy, timeline, budget breakdown, and expected outcomes."
Note: Claude for PowerPoint is available for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plan customers.

OpenAI has added ChatGPT support to Apple CarPlay, allowing users to interact with the chatbot through voice while driving.
Penguin Random House has sued OpenAI, alleging copyright violations after ChatGPT reportedly generated content closely resembling the popular German book series Coconut the Little Dragon. The complaint claims the AI produced text and images nearly identical to the original, including characters and cover elements.
Visa has launched six AI-powered tools designed to reduce the costs and frustration of "outdated" dispute processes for multiple entities involved in the payments process, including merchants, issuers, and acquirers.
The tools aim to reduce manual processes, prevent disputes before they escalate, and provide clearer transaction details to users.
The partnership will connect Marvell to Nvidia’s AI ecosystem, offering customers building on Nvidia architectures “greater choice and flexibility in developing next-generation infrastructure.”
The companies will also collaborate on silicon photonics technology, which uses light to process data on silicon chips.
Microsoft is in exclusive discussions with Chevron and Engine No. 1 to support a $7 billion natural gas power plant in West Texas. The facility could generate 2,500 megawatts to supply energy for a large data center campus as AI demand grows.
