Google Launches Veo 3.1 Lite at Half the Cost

Google DeepMind has introduced Veo 3.1 Lite, calling it their "most cost-effective video generation model."

Details:

  • Veo 3.1 Lite is priced at less than half the cost of Veo 3.1 Fast, while maintaining the same speed, although Google has not detailed quality differences between the models.

  • The model supports both text-to-video and image-to-video generation, with output available in 720p and 1080p across portrait and landscape formats.

  • Users can create short clips of 4, 6, or 8 seconds, with pricing starting at around $0.05 per second for 720p generation.

  • The model is available through the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, targeting developers building video features into their applications.

  • Google also announced it is reducing prices for its Veo 3.1 Fast model on April 7.

Google closed the announcement with the following note: "Our commitment to making video generation more available to developers doesn't stop with the release of Veo 3.1 Lite. Stay tuned for more updates soon!" Others at the company have also posted about how "video's here to stay," messages that make it clear Google is still all in on video generation, even as OpenAI revealed it's shutting down Sora.

88% resolved. 22% stayed loyal. What went wrong?

That's the AI paradox hiding in your CX stack. Tickets close. Customers leave. And most teams don't see it coming because they're measuring the wrong things.

Efficiency metrics look great on paper. Handle time down. Containment rate up. But customer loyalty? That's a different story โ€” and it's one your current dashboards probably aren't telling you.

Gladly's 2026 Customer Expectations Report surveyed thousands of real consumers to find out exactly where AI-powered service breaks trust, and what separates the platforms that drive retention from the ones that quietly erode it.

If you're architecting the CX stack, this is the data you need to build it right. Not just fast. Not just cheap. Built to last.

Americans Fear AI Job Loss, But Some Would Still Work for an AI Boss

A new Quinnipiac University survey of just under 1,400 US adults highlights growing concerns about AIโ€™s impact on jobs, while also revealing a small but notable openness to AI taking on management roles.

Details:

  • Around 30 percent of Americans worry their jobs could become obsolete due to AI, while 70 percent are concerned about fewer job opportunities in the future.

  • Despite these concerns, about 15 percent of respondents said they would be willing to work for an AI boss, though the majority (80%) remain opposed.

  • AI usage is increasing. Of those surveyed, only 27% said they've never used AI, down from 33% a year ago. Many report using it for research, writing, and work or school-related tasks.

  • Trust in AI remains low, with 76% saying it can only be trusted some of the time or hardly ever, and just 3% saying it can be fully trusted.

  • 74% of respondents feel the government is not doing enough to regulate AI, especially in areas like political advertising and transparency. Over half also think AI will do more harm than good in their daily lives.

The results show a mixed public sentiment toward AI, with adoption increasing but concerns around jobs, trust, and regulation still dominating.

How to Use ChatGPT to Build Playlists and Discover New Music

  1. Go to ChatGPT and sign in.

  2. Click on Apps in the left sidebar and search for Spotify. Then link your ChatGPT account with your Spotify account.

Now ChatGPT will be able to analyze your listening habits and recommend the right tracks for you.

  1. Start a new chat, and to make sure ChatGPT is considering Spotify, click the plus button on the left, followed by More, and then click the Spotify icon.

Example prompt:

"Can you make me a playlist for my early morning runs, with high-energy tracks that keep my pace up and help me lock into a steady rhythm, using my Spotify taste as inspiration?"

ChatGPT will provide you with a playlist that incorporates some of your favorite artists as well as songs you've never heard before.

Whether you want a playlist for certain activities or just to discover new music, this is a great way to get recommendations that take your taste into consideration.
