OpenAI Introduces ‘ChatGPT for Teens’
OpenAI is introducing a dedicated ChatGPT experience for teenagers, bringing existing youth safeguards together with additional protections designed around younger users.
Details:
ChatGPT for Teens will automatically apply to users who identify themselves as being between the ages of 13 and 17. Children under 13 are not permitted to use ChatGPT.
The teen experience will apply stricter limits on sensitive content, including graphic violence, self-harm, and sexual or romantic roleplay, while providing additional safety information around topics such as eating disorders.
Parents will get additional controls, including the ability to set quiet hours and receive notifications when ChatGPT detects a potential safety concern involving their teen.
OpenAI is also adding responsible homework reminders that can recognize when a student appears to be trying to bypass an assignment and redirect them toward Study Mode instead.
The company says the experience also includes teen-specific onboarding, break reminders, and customization options such as accent colors and voice variations.
OpenAI requires users to provide their age when signing up for ChatGPT, but some users may provide false information. In such cases, the company says its age-prediction system analyzes various signals to determine whether a user is under 18. If the system identifies a user as a minor, ChatGPT will automatically turn on teen mode.

Anthropic’s Revenue Reportedly Surges Past $11.5 Billion
Anthropic’s revenue reportedly jumped more than 14-fold year over year in the second quarter, highlighting the rapid growth of the Claude maker as it prepares for a potential IPO.

Anthropic generated more than $11.5 billion in preliminary revenue during its latest quarter, according to documents reviewed by Bloomberg, compared with $787 million during the same period last year.
Revenue also more than doubled from the $4.73 billion reported in the first quarter of 2026, showing how quickly the company’s business is expanding.
The growth comes as Anthropic gains traction with business customers, particularly professionals using Claude for tasks such as software development, while competing directly with OpenAI in the enterprise market.
Anthropic previously said its annualized revenue run rate had passed $47 billion in May, up from roughly $10 billion in total revenue for all of 2025.
The company has also begun meeting with potential investors ahead of a possible IPO, with an offering potentially coming as soon as this fall. Going public could provide additional capital to fund the enormous costs of AI infrastructure, advanced chips, and data centers.

Cursor has begun rolling out Origin, a code hosting platform designed to bring repositories, pull requests, and AI agents into the same workflow. The launch comes as GitHub faces another major outage.
Anthropic has introduced an early preview of the /design command for Claude Code. The feature allows developers to generate design mockups directly in the terminal or desktop app before they start writing code.
ByteDance and the MPA have agreed on a framework aimed at protecting film and TV intellectual property across the company’s AI image and video tools, including Seedance and Seedream. The agreement follows months of discussions after the MPA criticized ByteDance over the use of actors’ likenesses in AI-generated content.
Nvidia is set to provide up to $105 billion in support for an OpenAI data center being developed in Ohio by SB Energy, a SoftBank subsidiary. The project is expected to provide OpenAI with 8 gigawatts of capacity, with the first 800 megawatts scheduled to come online in 2028.
