AI Discovers 100+ Hidden Planets in NASA Data, Including Rare Worlds
Astronomers have used a new AI system called RAVEN to uncover more than 100 exoplanets hidden inside NASA telescope data, including dozens of newly discovered worlds and several rare planet types.

Researchers at the University of Warwick used the new RAVEN AI pipeline to analyze data from NASA’s TESS mission, which scans the sky for slight dips in starlight that occur when a planet crosses in front of its host star.
The study analyzed observations from over 2.2 million stars collected during the first four years of the TESS mission.
RAVEN uses machine learning trained on hundreds of thousands of realistically simulated planets and other astrophysical events to distinguish real planets from false signals (like eclipsing binary stars) that can masquerade as them.
The AI system automates the entire workflow, from signal detection to validation, allowing scientists to process enormous datasets more consistently and accurately.
The system confirmed 118 exoplanets, including 31 entirely new worlds, and identified more than 2,000 additional high-quality candidates.
Among the discoveries were several rare and extreme planets, including ultra-short-period worlds that orbit their stars in less than 24 hours. Researchers also identified planets inside the mysterious “Neptunian desert,” a region where planets are believed to be extremely uncommon.

PlayStation Says AI Is Becoming a Major Tool for Game Development
Sony says AI is increasingly being used across PlayStation studios to speed up game development, while insisting that human creators will remain at the center of the process.

During a recent earnings presentation, Sony described AI as a “powerful tool” for helping create PlayStation games.
The company said AI is being used to automate repetitive workflows and improve areas such as software engineering, quality assurance, 3D modeling, and animation.
Sony highlighted an AI-powered animation system called Mockingbird, which can animate 3D facial models using performance capture data in seconds instead of hours.
Studios including Naughty Dog and Santa Monica Studio have already used the tool in production workflows.
The company emphasized that AI is meant to augment developers and performers rather than replace them, with human creativity still driving the vision and emotional impact of games.
Sony is also working with Bandai Namco to explore "how generative AI and the latest technologies can most effectively contribute to realizing a creator's vision in the realm of video production." These experiments have shown major gains in productivity and speed, though also pointed to current weaknesses of AI models, including issues with consistency and controllability.

How to Enable Advanced Account Security on ChatGPT
Open ChatGPT (web or mobile), go to Settings, and select Security.
Select Advanced Account Security. (Users on mobile platforms will be redirected to a web browser to complete enrollment.)
Select Enroll.
On the secure setup page, select Continue.
Add at least two secure sign-in methods, including one that works across devices. These can include passkeys, FIDO-compatible security keys, or a combination of both.
Save your recovery keys and confirm that you saved them.
Note: Advanced Account Security disables standard SMS and email account recovery, so losing access to all sign-in methods and recovery keys may result in losing access to your account.

The company has introduced Ernie 5.1, a smaller and more efficient version of its Ernie 5.0 AI model that the company says cuts pre-training costs by 94% while remaining competitive with leading global models.
Greece is preparing a series of constitutional reforms that would include a new amendment requiring AI to serve people and society. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the proposal is aimed at protecting future generations as concerns grow around AI’s impact on democracy, human rights, and public oversight.
Representatives from both companies met with faith leaders in New York last week for the first "Faith-AI Covenant" roundtable, an event focused on discussing ethical guidelines for artificial intelligence. The meeting was organized by the Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities, with additional events planned in Beijing, Nairobi, and Abu Dhabi.
Researchers from AI security company Mindgard say they were able to manipulate Anthropic’s Claude chatbot into producing prohibited content, including malicious code, explicit material, and instructions related to explosives, by using praise, flattery, and psychological manipulation during long conversations.
Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI has raised around $2 billion at a $20 billion valuation, as investor interest in open-source AI models continues to rise.
The funding round was led by Meituan’s VC arm Long-Z Investments, with participation from Tsinghua Capital, China Mobile, and CPE Yuanfeng. Moonshot, which develops the Kimi family of open-weight AI models, reportedly raised $3.9 billion over the past six months.
