BIOHUB
Zuckerberg and Chan's Biohub Launches Protein 'World Model'

Biohub, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan's philanthropic venture, released a world model of protein biology to accelerate drug discovery.
Details:
The system is based on the latest generation of Evolutionary Scale Modeling (ESM), which learns from millions of protein sequences created through evolution to better understand how proteins behave.
Proteins are critical to nearly every biological process in the body, but designing new ones that are both stable and effective has remained a major challenge in medicine.
Biohub says the AI models have already shown promising results in research involving cancer and immune-related diseases, with several predictions validated through lab testing.
Researchers used these AI models to design new protein binders for cancer and immune targets, which effectively reactivate immune cells in lab tests.
The platform is built using open-source AI models, allowing scientists and researchers to access and build on the technology for their own work.
Biohub plans to make the models available through its own biohub.ai platform, while also partnering with services like AWS Bio Discovery and SandboxAQ to expand access. The organization will additionally provide compute credits to researchers so they can run experiments and test the models directly on Biohub’s infrastructure.

The LA Mayor Market Ends June 2. The Odds Are Moving Now.
Karen Bass is at 68%. Spencer Pratt at 27%. Over $21 million is already trading on the Los Angeles Mayor race on Kalshi — and the prices are shifting every day as local news breaks. The window to get in before the consensus hardens is closing. The best prediction market trades happen before everyone agrees on the outcome. That moment is right now, before June 2. Trade responsibly.
PERPLEXITY
CNN Sues Perplexity Over Alleged Copyright Infringement

CNN has filed a lawsuit against AI search startup Perplexity, accusing the company of unlawfully copying and distributing its copyrighted news content to power AI-generated responses.
Details:
The lawsuit alleges that Perplexity copied thousands of CNN articles, videos, and images, then used that material to generate responses that closely resemble CNN’s original reporting.
CNN argues that this practice undermines the business model of journalism by allowing AI companies to benefit from reporting without compensating the publishers that created it.
Perplexity responded by arguing that facts themselves cannot be copyrighted, a defense that has become common in ongoing AI copyright disputes.
CNN is seeking monetary damages and a court order that would block Perplexity from continuing to use its intellectual property without permission.
The case adds to a growing list of legal battles facing Perplexity, which has already been sued by organizations including The New York Times, Reddit, and Dow Jones over alleged scraping and copyright violations.

How to Prioritize Your Favorite News Sources in Google AI Overviews

Go to source preferences in Search personalization settings
In the “Search by name or website” field, type the name or web address of a news site you like.
When the site appears in the results, click the checkbox next to it to add it as a Preferred Source.
Repeat the process to add multiple websites.
Once your sources are added, go back to Google Search, enter a topic or question you want to research, and click the "AI Mode" button to generate an AI-powered response.

In the response, one or more of your preferred sources may appear within or next to the AI summary. From there, you can hover over a source link to see its full name, date, and other details, or click it to view the full story on the source's website.
Keep in mind that your Preferred Sources won’t always appear. Google will only surface them when they’re relevant to your search and when the sites have fresh content related to the topic.
If you're a publisher or website owner, you can encourage your readers to add your site to their Preferred Sources. Tips on how to do that can be found here.

TOGETHER WITH BELAY
Are you running your business or just hoping the numbers work out?
Most small business owners have financials; few have financial clarity. There's a big difference between books that are technically up to date and books that actually tell you what's going on in your business right now.
When accounting is reactive, updated only when there's time and reviewed annually during tax season, you lose visibility exactly when you need it most. You can't tell which clients or services are truly profitable. You can't spot a cash flow problem before it becomes a crisis. And you can't make confident growth decisions on incomplete data.
BELAY's outsourced accounting team changes that. We become a seamless part of your business, managing your books, tracking key metrics, and delivering timely financial reporting that lets busy leaders focus on what only they can do.
The end result: more time spent growing your organization.
