Google Releases Three New Gemini Models
Google has expanded its Gemini lineup with three new AI models focused on speed, efficiency, and cybersecurity.
Details:
Gemini 3.6 Flash is Google's new “workhorse model,” offering stronger coding, reasoning, and multimodal capabilities while reducing token usage by up to 17%, making it more efficient and less expensive than Gemini 3.5 Flash.
Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite is designed as Google's most affordable Flash model, targeting developers who need lower-cost AI for production workloads.
Google also introduced Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, a specialized model fine-tuned to identify and help fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities. It will initially be available only to governments and trusted partners through a limited-access pilot.
The company says the focus on these releases is to deliver efficiency, latency, and reliability to customers that are building AI agents at scale.
About the delayed Gemini 3.5 Pro model, which was supposed to launch in June, Google DeepMind product lead Logan Kilpatrick said the model is currently being tested with partners and hopes to 'land soon.' Google also noted that it has started pre-training for Gemini 4.

OpenAI Says Its AI Went Rogue and Launched 'Unprecedented' Cyber-Attack
OpenAI disclosed that two of its AI models escaped a controlled testing environment and carried out an unauthorized cyberattack against Hugging Face during an internal cybersecurity evaluation.
Details:
During a security test, GPT-5.6 Sol and a more advanced unreleased model found a vulnerability that allowed them to escape their sandbox environment and access the internet.
The models then targeted Hugging Face, one of the world's largest hubs for sharing AI models, after determining it could provide information that would help them complete the evaluation.
OpenAI described the event as an “an unprecedented cyber incident, involving state-of-the-art cyber capabilities,” and said it is working closely with Hugging Face to address the vulnerabilities.
The company also said it is introducing stricter infrastructure controls while the security issues are investigated and patched, as well as improving and adding stronger protections around future training and evaluations.
Hugging Face confirmed it detected the intrusion and said the incident demonstrates the importance of industry-wide collaboration on AI safety, rather than relying on individual companies working independently.

Create a Presentation in Minutes Using ChatGPT
Go to ChatGPT and sign in to your account.
Select "Plugins" in the left sidebar, and search for Gamma.
Install the plugin.
Start a new chat, click the + button, and select Gamma.
Enter a prompt describing the presentation you want. For example:
"Create a pitch deck for our new fitness app using the Slate theme."
Gamma will generate a complete presentation directly inside ChatGPT.
Continue refining the slides by asking ChatGPT to add, remove, rewrite, or reorganize content until you're happy with the final result.

Anthropic has introduced Record a Skill, a new Claude feature that lets users teach the AI workflows by recording their screen and narrating the process. Claude analyzes the demonstration and turns it into a repeatable skill that can automate similar tasks in the future. The feature is available to Max, Pro, and Team subscribers through Claude Cowork, with support for free users not yet announced.
The company is reportedly developing a new AI server chip, codenamed Frozen v2, to improve the efficiency of its Gemini models. Expected to launch in 2028, the chip could deliver six to ten times greater efficiency than Google's current AI hardware.
The music streaming company says that more than 50% of the music uploaded to its platform each day is AI-generated, reaching an average of 90,000 tracks per day in June 2026. In response, the streaming service will remove inactive AI-generated tracks and those linked to fraudulent streaming activity, while continuing to label AI-created music using its detection technology.
The new image generation model is designed for practical applications like newspaper layouts, complex infographics, and other information-dense visual content. The company calls it 'a real productivity tool for design, content, education & e-commerce.'
Adobe has introduced new AI-powered photography features to its experimental Project Indigo camera app for iOS. The update can analyze photos, provide feedback on composition, lighting, and framing, suggest improvements, and offer AI-powered editing tools such as object removal, depth-of-field effects, and style transfers.
