Z. ai Launches Open-Source GLM-5.2 AI Model

Chinese AI startup Z.ai has released GLM-5.2, a new open-weights large language model designed for long-running software engineering and coding tasks, claiming performance that rivals or exceeds leading proprietary models while offering significantly lower deployment costs.

Details:

  • Z.ai has released GLM-5.2, a 753-billion-parameter open-weights language model under the MIT license, allowing organizations to freely download, modify, and self-host the model.

  • The model supports a 1 million-token context window, and users can choose between different "Thinking Modes," including a maximum-performance mode ("Max") and a more efficient "High" mode that delivers comparable results while using fewer output tokens.

  • According to Z.ai, GLM-5.2 outperforms OpenAI's GPT-5.5 on several software engineering benchmarks, including SWE-bench Pro, FrontierSWE, MCP-Atlas, and other evaluations focused on long-horizon coding and autonomous tool use.

  • The model is available through Hugging Face, Z.ai's API, and more than 20 developer tools and coding environments.

Z.ai also introduced developer subscription plans starting at $12.60 per month, with API pricing substantially lower than that of most leading AI providers.

TOGETHER WITH STORECLAW

One AI. Every Tool Your Store Actually Needs.

Most e-commerce sellers are paying for 6 to 8 separate tools that don't talk to each other β€” and spending hundreds of dollars a month just to keep up. StoreClaw replaces your entire stack with one autonomous AI engine that monitors competitors, optimizes listings, automates marketing, and tracks real profit across Shopify, Amazon, and beyond.

It doesn't wait for you to ask. It runs 24/7 in the background, so you wake up to a full dashboard instead of a list of things you forgot to check.

Connect your store, and StoreClaw gets to work β€” no prompts, no complex setup, no six-app stack.

Free to start. No credit card required.

Pinterest Tests AI Shopping Assistant with New β€˜Ask Pinterest’ App

Pinterest has launched a standalone experimental web app called Ask Pinterest that uses AI to help users discover products and ideas through conversational prompts instead of traditional keyword searches.

Details:

  • The app is powered by Pinterest's proprietary Taste Graph, which maps users' interests, aesthetics, and preferences to deliver more personalized recommendations.

  • Users can ask complex or multi-step questions (such as planning a dinner party or decorating a room over time) and receive tailored suggestions while maintaining context across conversations.

  • When users sign in, the app can also incorporate their saved Pins and Boards to further personalize recommendations.

  • Pinterest's new app was announced alongside marketer-focused updates, including a beta AI assistant in its U.S. Ads Manager, a new Performance+ Creative AI model, and an MCP infrastructure layer that will allow advertisers to manage campaigns through third-party agentic tools in a standardized way.

By launching Ask Pinterest as a separate application, the company can experiment with AI-powered shopping experiences without altering the core Pinterest app. Pinterest believes these results will help build future AI-powered experiences within its flagship app.

Disney's Imagineering R&D team is using Adobe's Firefly Foundry platform to streamline the design and visualization process for its theme parks and experiences. The collaboration uses AI models trained on Disney's own creative assets to transform sketches into detailed concept art, convert 2D designs into 3D prototypes, and more.

Developed in collaboration with Anthropic, the AI assistant is designed to handle complex workplace tasks such as analyzing large datasets, comparing documents, and supporting sales teams. The general release adds support for multiple AI models, including Anthropic's Opus 4.8, Sonnet 4.6, and GPT-5.5, with Microsoft's Cowork 1 model coming soon.

OpenAI's ChatGPT remains the world's most widely used AI assistant, but its market share has fallen below 50% for the first time as competitors such as Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude continue to gain users. According to Sensor Tower, the AI assistant market is becoming more competitive, with users increasingly switching platforms based on features, integrations, and brand perception.

The Trump administration is expected to reject the UK's request for an exemption from new export restrictions that block foreign access to Anthropic's most advanced AI models, citing national security concerns.
