OPENAI
OpenAI Introduces Lockdown Mode and Elevated Risk Labels in ChatGPT

OpenAI has announced new security controls inside ChatGPT aimed at reducing the risk of prompt injection attacks, a growing class of exploits where malicious instructions attempt to manipulate AI systems or extract sensitive data.
Details:
OpenAI introduced Lockdown Mode, an optional high security setting that tightly restricts how ChatGPT interacts with external systems. It is designed for high risk environments such as executives or security teams that handle sensitive data.
In Lockdown Mode, certain tools are disabled or constrained to prevent data from being exposed through prompt injection. For example, web browsing is limited to cached content inside OpenAI’s controlled environment rather than live external requests.
Workspace administrators retain granular control, allowing them to choose which apps and actions remain available when Lockdown Mode is active.
OpenAI is also standardizing an “Elevated Risk” label across ChatGPT, ChatGPT Atlas, and Codex to flag features that may introduce additional risk.
Lockdown Mode is currently available for ChatGPT Enterprise, ChatGPT Edu, ChatGPT for Healthcare, and ChatGPT for Teachers, with plans to expand availability in the coming months.

Vibe code with your voice
Vibe code by voice. Wispr Flow lets you dictate prompts, PRDs, bug reproductions, and code review notes directly in Cursor, Warp, or your editor of choice. Speak instructions and Flow will auto-tag file names, preserve variable names and inline identifiers, and format lists and steps for immediate pasting into GitHub, Jira, or Docs. That means less retyping, fewer copy and paste errors, and faster triage. Use voice to dictate prompts and directions inside Cursor or Warp and get developer-ready text with file name recognition and variable recognition built in. Alibaba Unveils New Qwen3.5 Model

Alibaba Group has introduced Qwen3.5-397B-A17B, a new open weight multimodal model built to be faster, cheaper, and more agent capable than its predecessors.
Details:
Qwen3.5 combines text, image, and video processing in a single architecture and uses a mixture of experts design where only 17 billion of its 397 billion parameters activate per query, helping reduce compute costs while keeping performance high.
Alibaba says architectural upgrades allow the model to run dramatically faster than earlier Qwen models while maintaining comparable output quality.
Benchmarks show strong gains in instruction following, multilingualism, and agentic tasks, where Qwen3.5 performs near leading models from companies like OpenAI and Anthropic, though it trails in reasoning and coding performance.
The model expands multilingual reach to 201 languages and dialects and introduces a larger token vocabulary, which Alibaba says improves efficiency and responsiveness across global workloads.
The open weight release is paired with a hosted cloud version and aggressive API pricing ($0.40 per million input tokens and $2.40 per million output).
The race is heating up among Chinese AI labs, with Zhipu AI and ByteDance releasing highly competitive models in recent weeks, all of them having benchmark performance rivaling the best models, open availability, and rock-bottom pricing compared to their Western counterparts.
