XAI
Elon Musk's SpaceX Acquires xAI

Elon Musk has confirmed that SpaceX has acquired his AI startup xAI in a landmark transaction that ties together rockets, satellites, and AI under a single corporate roof.
Details:
SpaceX confirmed it has officially acquired xAI, combining the spaceflight company and the AI startup into a single entity valued at roughly $1.25 trillion, according to Bloomberg, which first reported the deal.
In a memo published on SpaceX’s website, Musk said the merger is driven by a long-term vision to build space-based data centers, arguing that Earth-bound facilities demand unsustainable levels of power and cooling as AI usage scales.
Musk said space data centers would require a constant stream of satellites, creating a built-in demand loop for SpaceX launches, especially as satellites must be de-orbited every five years under FCC rules.
The acquisition further consolidates Musk’s empire, which already includes Tesla, Neuralink, The Boring Company, and X, and raises new questions about SpaceX’s rumored IPO timeline, which Musk did not address in his announcement.

6 AI Predictions That Will Redefine CX in 2026
2026 is the inflection point for customer experience.
AI agents are becoming infrastructure — not experiments — and the teams that win will be the ones that design for reliability, scale, and real-world complexity.
This guide breaks down six shifts reshaping CX, from agentic systems to AI operations, and what enterprise leaders need to change now to stay ahead.

OpenAI launches a Codex desktop app for macOS

Codex, originally launched as OpenAI's answer to tools like Claude Code, now has a dedicated macOS app designed to let developers manage multiple agents at once, run work in parallel, and collaborate with agents over long-running tasks.
Details:
OpenAI describes the new app as a "command center for agents," positioning it as a place to handle and coordinate teams of agents across the full software lifecycle, including designing, building, shipping, and maintaining.
As a demonstration, OpenAI used Codex to build a Mario Kart-style racing game with multiple cars, tracks, and powerups, a project that would be difficult for one agent alone but manageable through coordinated delegation.
The app introduces a Skills section that bundles instructions, scripts, and resources, allowing teams to control how Codex connects to tools and workflows, either manually or automatically based on the task.
Codex also includes Automations, enabling users to schedule background jobs such as bug checks, issue triage, CI failure summaries, and release briefs.
OpenAI is making Codex temporarily available to ChatGPT Free and Plus users while doubling usage limits for paid plans. CEO Sam Altman took to X to announce that more than 200,000 people downloaded the app on its first day.

Mozilla is rolling out a new “AI control” setting in Firefox on February 24 that lets users disable all AI-powered features or selectively turn individual ones on or off.
The 1.0 release adds support for 10-second videos, 720p resolution, and significantly improved audio.
Anthropic’s Claude Code lead Boris Cherny said his work is now entirely produced by AI models, a shift echoed by engineers at OpenAI and reinforced by comments from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, who predicts AI could soon handle most software engineering tasks end to end.
The company is in discussions to invest at least $50 billion in OpenAI as part of a massive funding round that could raise up to $100 billion.
The deal would push OpenAI’s valuation from about $500 billion to as high as $830 billion, with Amazon CEO Andy Jassy reportedly leading negotiations with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
Researchers from SentinelOne and Censys say open-source large language models running outside major AI platforms are increasingly being misused for criminal activity, from spam and phishing to disinformation, hacking, fraud, and in some cases child sexual abuse material.
