Google Launches ‘Guided Learning’ in Gemini

Google has rolled out a new feature called Guided Learning within Gemini that acts like a digital tutor, aiming to help users truly understand topics instead of just giving them quick answers.

Details:

• Guided Learning in Gemini helps users learn step by step, breaking down problems and adapting explanations to their needs.

• The tool uses images, diagrams, videos, and interactive quizzes to help users better understand complex topics and test their knowledge.

• Plus, users can now ask the chatbot to create flashcards and study guides based on their quiz results or other class materials.

• This comes shortly after competing AI labs like OpenAI and Anthropic released similar tools, amid concerns that AI chatbot use could harm learning, especially for younger users.

Google also announced that it is offering students in the U.S., Japan, Indonesia, Korea, and Brazil a free one-year subscription to Google’s AI Pro plan, giving them expanded access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, NotebookLM, Veo 3, Deep Research, and more.

OpenAI Is Giving ChatGPT to the Government for $1

OpenAI is making a big move to get ChatGPT into the hands of federal workers by offering its ChatGPT Enterprise service to U.S. government agencies at “essentially no cost.”

Details:

• OpenAI has struck a deal with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to provide ChatGPT Enterprise to federal agencies for only $1 per agency for the next year.

• Agencies will get access to the company’s frontier models through ChatGPT Enterprise. It will also offer unlimited use of advanced models for an additional 60 days, plus special training and a new user community for government workers.

• Data from government employees will not be used to train OpenAI's models, and special attention is being given to protecting sensitive information.

This offer puts OpenAI ahead of other AI companies like Google and Anthropic, who are also approved to sell their tools to the government, but it’s not clear whether they will offer their services at such a discounted rate.

Create personalized, illustrated storybooks about anything

With Gemini’s new “Storybook” feature, you can generate 10-page stories, each with a short paragraph of text that Gemini can read aloud, along with an illustration.

Here’s how:

1. Go to http://gemini.google

2. In the prompt bar, ask Gemini to make a storybook about any topic.

For example: “Create a storybook that explains the solar system to my 5-year-old.”

3. You can also customize your story by asking Gemini to use specific art styles, such as ones inspired by claymation, anime, comics, and more.

4. Optionally, you can upload your own photos or other images for Gemini to reference.

5. Wait a few seconds for your storybook to be created. Press the Listen button to have the AI read it aloud (you can choose between higher- or lower-pitched voices), or share it.

*Note: The feature supports over 45 languages and is available globally in the Gemini app on both mobile and desktop.

Google rejects claims of AI in Search hurting web traffic

Despite reports suggesting AI-generated summaries are choking off publisher traffic, Google Search chief Liz Reid said in a blog post that AI helps improve questions and results, claiming that total organic click volume from its search engine to websites has been “relatively stable” year over year and that average click quality has slightly increased.

With Grok 4 already available, xAI will move to open source its Grok 2 model next week, just as it previously did with Grok 1.

He also told advertisers in a live discussion that the platform plans to introduce ads in Grok’s responses, with X allowing marketers to pay to appear in suggestions from the AI chatbot.
