Elon Musk's Grok Turns Viral X Jokes into Fake News 🤯

Source: X

Elon Musk's Grok uses posts from X users to generate reports on current events, but it has been producing a stream of bizarre and false "news" stories.

Details:

  • Grok takes jokes and speculative posts from X users and presents them as real news.

  • When X users joked about the sun "disappearing" during a recent solar eclipse, Grok generated a report claiming that experts were "surprised by the sun's odd behavior" - a completely false claim, as solar eclipses are a predictable astronomical phenomenon.

Source: Gizmodo

  • In another case, Grok fell for a joke by X users who claimed the mayor of New York would send police to "shoot the earthquake" before it happened again.

  • Unfortunately, it's not just harmless jokes that Grok misunderstands. Grok has also reported inaccurate information about current conflicts, such as falsely claiming that Iran launched an attack on Israel.

Musk has touted Grok's ability to quickly generate news reports as an advantage, but it is precisely this reliance on unfiltered user posts that leads to the creation of fake news. We'll see if they manage to filter the content effectively and leverage its potential for positive impact.

Adobe to Add AI Video Generators Sora, Runway, Pika to Premiere Pro

Source: Adobe

Adobe has announced plans to update its Premiere Pro software to include plug-ins for emerging third-party AI video generator models, such as OpenAI's Sora and rivals Runway ML's Gen-2 and Pika 1.0.

Details:

  • With this addition, Premiere Pro users will be able to edit and combine live-action video with AI-generated footage.

  • Users could film an actor performing a scene, and then use AI to generate a monster the actor is running away from, all within the same video file in Premiere Pro.

  • The same goes for animation - users could intermix traditionally created animation with AI-generated footage in the same project.

  • Additionally, Adobe is also introducing several new AI video tools and previewed a version of its Firefly text-to-image generator model coming to Premiere Pro "later this year"

No timeline has been set for when the third-party AI video generators will be integrated into Premiere Pro, and the details are still being worked out. However, Adobe published a preview video showing what the future workflow with third-party AI video generators would look like.
