Google to Offer Free AI Training for 6 Million U.S. Teachers
Google is rolling out a nationwide initiative to provide free AI training to all six million teachers in the US.
Details:
Google for Education is partnering with ISTE+ASCD to offer free AI training to all six million U.S. educators, which Google says makes it the largest program of its kind.
The courses focus on practical classroom use of Gemini and NotebookLM, aiming to help teachers and their more than 74 million students use AI safely and effectively.
Training modules are designed to be short and hands on, with concrete lesson ready examples educators can apply immediately.
The initiative is expected to launch in the coming months, with interested teachers able to register through a Google sign up form.
The move appears to be part of a broader strategic effort to embed their products into the education system early, hoping that students who grow up within their ecosystem will stick with it well into their professional lives

Reddit Tests AI Shopping Carousels in Search Results
The social media platform announced that it's testing a new AI search tool that takes community recommendations and pairs them with products from some of the company's shopping and advertising partners

A small group of U.S. users will begin seeing interactive product carousels in search results, showing prices, images, and direct purchase links.
The carousel highlights products that users have actually mentioned in posts and comments, aiming to keep community input at the center of the experience.
The company is positioning AI search as a major business opportunity, with CEO Steve Huffman noting strong growth in both search usage and the AI-powered Reddit Answers feature.
The test puts Reddit alongside platforms like OpenAI, whose ChatGPT introduced Instant Checkout last year, as tech firms increasingly explore AI-driven shopping.

How to create studio-quality marketing assets with Photoshoot in Pomelli
Google just launched a new feature inside its Pomelli tool that helps small businesses create clean product photos without a studio.
Here's how to use it:
Go to Pomelli and click "Get Started."
Create a "Business DNA" if you haven't already
Enter your website or product URL and Pomelli will analyze it and create a "Business DNA" profile for your brand. All content Pomelli generates is grounded in this DNA.
Then select the new Photoshoot feature in the left sidebar.
Select "Create a Product Photoshoot" and upload your product image.
Choose your aspect ratios and a template.
You can select from professionally curated templates like studio or lifestyle, or let Pomelli suggest some for you.
Click "Create Photoshoot."
The tool will automatically apply your business's aesthetics to generate professional-looking images that feel on brand.
Once the images are generated, edit and adjust them as you see fit.
All images can be downloaded, deleted, or added to your Business DNA for later use.
Note: Pomelli is available as a public beta experiment in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The new feature would let users disclose when their posts contain AI-generated or manipulated content. Users who fail to do so may be violating the platform's community guidelines.
The new tool, now being tested as part of Claude Code in a limited research preview, can scan codebases for security vulnerabilities and suggest targeted fixes for human review.
The company says this feature will let users create living AI versions of themselves or other people that 'talk, post, remember, and grow, so you can live your best life without all those silly human limits.'
The OpenAI CEO pushed back on concerns about the power demands of AI, arguing that human development also consumes significant energy. Speaking to The Indian Express during the AI Impact Summit in India, Altman said critics often overlook the resources required to raise and educate people.
At the same time, Altman acknowledged that public scrutiny of AI's energy footprint is fair and called for faster adoption of nuclear, wind, and solar power.
