AI Is Driving a Surge of Self-Made Billionaires Under 30

A mix of AI, prediction markets, and online gambling is producing young billionaires at a pace never seen before.

Details:

  • There are now 13 self-made billionaires under 30, nearly double the previous record, driven by industries that barely existed a decade ago and are scaling at extreme speed.

  • AI startups are the biggest driver, with founders behind companies like Mercor, Scale AI, Cursor, and Lovable reaching billion-dollar net worths in their early or mid-20s thanks to rapid adoption and massive private valuations.

  • Prediction markets have also emerged as a new wealth engine, with platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi turning founders into billionaires after large funding rounds and regulatory breakthroughs.

  • The youngest self-made billionaires ever are the trio of 22-year-old cofounders of Mercor: Adarsh Hiremath, Brendan Foody, and Surya Midha, whose AI recruiting startup reached a $10B valuation in October of this year.

Despite this youth boom, billionaires remain mostly older overall, with an average age of 67, showing just how unusual and concentrated this under-30 surge really is.

Over the next year, Roku predicts that 100% of the streaming audience will see ads. For growth marketers in 2026, CTV will remain an important “safe space” as AI creates widespread disruption in the search and social channels. Plus, easier access to self-serve CTV ad buying tools and targeting options will lead to a surge in locally-targeted streaming campaigns.

Read our guide to find out why growth marketers should make sure CTV is part of their 2026 media mix.

ZHIPU AI

Zhipu AI Launches Low-Cost GLM-4.7 to Take On Western Coding Models

Zhipu AI has introduced GLM-4.7, a new model featuring substantial improvements in coding, complex reasoning, and tool usage, setting new open-source SOTA standards.

Details:

  • GLM-4.7 is designed for autonomous coding and long-running tasks, using a “Preserved Thinking” system that keeps reasoning intact across extended conversations.

  • The model builds on earlier “Interleaved Thinking,” allowing it to pause, reflect, and plan before executing actions.

  • It shows a major performance jump over GLM-4.6, scoring 73.8% on the SWE-bench Verified test and placing it close to models from OpenAI and Anthropic.

  • Zhipu highlights “vibe coding” as a key strength, claiming the model can generate polished websites and presentations from a single prompt.

  • GLM-4.7 is positioned as a low-cost option, with Zhipu claiming it runs at roughly one-seventh the cost of comparable commercial models.

The model is available via Z.ai, OpenRouter, Hugging Face for local use, and also integrates into coding workflows such as Claude Code.

How to create your own Christmas and New Year cards with AI

You don’t need design skills, long hours or generic templates to make greeting cards feel personal. With AI, you can turn a short message and a photo into a custom Christmas or New Year card in minutes.

Christmas card

  1. Generate the message

Go to ChatGPT and use this prompt:

Write a warm and heartfelt Christmas message for my family.
The message should express love, gratitude, and togetherness.
Keep the tone cozy and emotional, suitable for parents and close relatives.
The message must be only 1–2 short lines, simple and genuine. Avoid clichés and overly formal language.
  1. Create the image

You can use the ChatGPT 1.5 image generation model or another model of your choice. Upload your photo and use this prompt:

Create an animated, illustrated portrait of me using the uploaded photo as reference.
The illustration should clearly resemble my facial features in a soft, animated style.
Set the theme as Christmas with warm, festive vibes.
Show me smiling gently, wearing cozy winter clothing in red, green, white, or gold tones.
Add Christmas elements like a decorated tree, fairy lights, snowflakes, and ornaments.
Include this message in the card:
“[paste the Christmas message generated in the previous step here]”
The final image should feel warm, joyful, and suitable for sharing with family and friends.

You can adjust these prompts if you're using a family photo instead of an individual one.

New Year card

  1. Generate the message using the following prompt:

Write a thoughtful and hopeful New Year message for my friends and family.
Focus on gratitude for the past year and good wishes for the year ahead. Keep the tone calm, warm, and sincere.
The message must be only 1–2 short lines, suitable for a New Year greeting card.
Avoid dramatic or generic phrases.
  1. Create the image with this prompt

Create an animated, illustrated portrait of me using the uploaded photo as reference.
The character should resemble me clearly, but in a clean, modern animated illustration style.
Set the theme as New Year celebration with festive energy.
Show me smiling confidently in stylish festive attire with colors like black, gold, silver, or deep blue.
Add celebratory elements such as fireworks, glowing lights, confetti, and a subtle city or party-style background.
Add this quote without breaking in the image “[paste the New Year message generated in the previous step here]”
The overall vibe should feel joyful, hopeful, and celebratory, suitable for a New Year greeting card.
Use bright highlights, clean composition, and a high-quality finished look.

Alibaba Cloud’s Qwen team has introduced two new text-to-speech models focused on voice creation and cloning. Qwen3-TTS-VD-Flash generates voices from detailed text descriptions, letting users control traits like tone, emotion, and speaking pace. Alibaba says it outperforms OpenAI’s GPT-4o mini-tts API.

The second model, Qwen3-TTS-VC-Flash, can clone a voice from as little as three seconds of audio and reproduce it across ten languages. Alibaba claims lower error rates than rivals such as ElevenLabs and MiniMax.

Investigative journalist John Carreyrou and five other writers have filed a lawsuit against xAI, Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, Meta, and Perplexity, alleging their books were used to train AI models without permission.

Unlike recent class-action cases, the suit was filed by individuals, arguing that class settlements undervalue high-value claims.

Marissa Mayer is back with a new AI startup called Dazzle. The company has raised an $8 million seed round led by Forerunner’s Kirsten Green and plans to build the next generation of AI personal assistants, after Mayer shut down her previous startup, Sunshine.

Roughly half of the budget is expected to go toward advanced semiconductors.

The company is adding new third-party integrations to its AI assistant Alexa+, enabling it to work with Angi, Expedia, Square, and Yelp starting in 2026. The update lets users book hotels, request home service quotes, and schedule appointments through natural language.
