Anthropic Updates Claude with New App Integrations and Upgraded Research Tool

Anthropic just launched a new way to connect apps and tools to Claude, along with an expanded "deep research" capability.
Details:
The new app connection feature, called Integrations, allows users to link Claude to third-party apps through a system called the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
At launch, there are ready-to-use connectors for 10 services: Jira, Confluence, Zapier, Cloudflare, Intercom, Asana, Square, Sentry, PayPal, Linear, with more on the way, including support for Stripe and GitLab.
With the new Advanced Research, Claude can now "conduct deeper investigations" and generate more comprehensive reports using both public and internal sources.
The upgraded research feature can take advantage of the new integrations to also search any application you connect (it used to be limited to web search and Google Workspace), providing clear citations with direct links to the original sources, which should make it easier to verify the information.
These are strong additions to Anthropicās efforts to keep pace with competitors like Gemini and ChatGPT. They're available in beta for users on Claudeās Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, with support for the Pro plan expected soon.
Google Introduces AI Mode in Search

Google is expanding access to AI Mode, its experimental AI assistant in Search that draws from the company's search index to answer complex, multi-part questions and follow-ups.
Detials:
Starting in the coming weeks, a small percentage of users in the US will begin seeing an AI Mode tab to the left of āAll,ā āImages,ā and other tabs in Google Search, allowing them to test the feature outside of Googleās experimental Labs environment.
Google is also removing the waitlist for AI Mode. Anyone in the U.S. aged 18 or older can now access the feature if enrolled in Labs.
The feature has been updated with new capabilities, including the ability to pick up where you left off in a search and the addition of visual, interactive cards that show detailed, real-time information for businesses or productsāsuch as opening hours, reviews, prices, and shipping details.
AI Mode is Googleās response to LLM-based search engines like Perplexity and OpenAIās ChatGPT search features, which, while not a major threat yet, are steadily growing in popularity.

The latest in AI and Tech
The tech giant has been in discussions with Musk's xAI to host the Grok model on its Azure AI Foundry platform. This move would make Grok accessible to developers and Microsoftās internal product teams, allowing integration into applications and services.
The company is introducing new features that will automatically label images detected as generated or edited with generative AI and give users the option to see fewer of them when browsing similar topics.
The new model can process text, images, and videos (but not audio) and is available through Amazon Bedrock. Amazon claims that Premier excels at ācomplex tasksā that ārequire deep understanding of context, multi-step planning, and precise execution across multiple tools and data sources.ā
Gemini's latest update introduces native AI image editing capabilities, allowing users to modify both uploaded photographs and AI-generated images. The new feature is being rolled out gradually and will be available in āover 45 languages and most countries in the coming weeks.ā
Thatās a wrap!
