Anthropic Releases Claude Sonnet 4.5
The startup claims it is its most capable model yet, outperforming previous versions in software development, computer operation, and task automation.
Details:
Claude Sonnet 4.5 achieves state-of-the-art performance on several coding benchmarks, including scoring 77.2% on SWE-bench Verified (82% with parallel test-time compute), a rigorous software engineering evaluation.
Anthropic claims it is capable of building “production-ready” applications rather than just prototypes, and can also maintain focus on complex, multi-step tasks for more than 30 hours—a dramatic leap in AI’s ability to handle sustained work.
It is Anthropic’s most aligned frontier AI model yet, with lower rates of sycophancy and deception than previous versions, and improved resistance to prompt injection attacks.
Sonnet 4.5 will be available via the Claude API and in the Claude chatbot, with pricing for developers remaining the same as Claude Sonnet 4.
Alongside the launch of Claude Sonnet 4.5, Anthropic is also releasing the Claude Agent SDK, a collection of tools to help developers build their own agents, as well as a temporary research preview called “Imagine with Claude” for Max subscribers, which shows the AI generating software on the fly.

OpenAI Brings Agentic AI Shopping to ChatGPT with Instant Checkout
OpenAI rolled out Instant Checkout inside ChatGPT, allowing users to find products and complete purchases without leaving the chat.
Details:
Instant Checkout lets Pro, Plus, and Free logged-in users in the U.S. buy from Etsy sellers now, with support for over 1 million Shopify merchants coming soon.
Users can just tap “Buy” to confirm their order, shipping, and payment details to complete the purchase. It supports Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe, and credit cards.
OpenAI says results are organic and unsponsored, ranked by relevance, and it plans to charge a small fee on completed purchases.
The startup will also open-source its Agentic Commerce Protocol, the tech behind Instant Checkout built with Stripe, so that other merchants and developers can integrate agentic checkout.
This may signal a shift in who shapes online shopping and where it happens, although privacy concerns remain since users are sharing payment data through a chat interface. The company seeks to ease these concerns by clarifying that ChatGPT merely acts as a secure intermediary, passing information between user and merchant.

You’ll get a written report. Next, go to the top right corner, click Create, and select the Infographic option. (You can also experiment with other options such as Webpage, Quiz, or Audio Overview.)

You can also switch between Preview and Code to make changes or copy the code.

The latest in AI and Tech
The company is giving limited users early access for $19.90 per month while others join a waitlist.
Smartphone maker Nothing’s new AI tool lets users create mini apps and widgets with text prompts and deploy them to its Essential Apps platform.
Users can build things like flight trackers or meeting briefs, customize existing apps, or tweak code for finer control.
The tool works much like ChatGPT or Gemini but is limited to employees, with no current plans for public release. This chatbot gives Apple the ability to quickly develop, test, and collect feedback on new Siri features like “search[ing] through personal data… and perform[ing] in-app actions like editing photos.“
Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 53, a landmark bill requiring major AI labs like OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, and Google DeepMind to be transparent about safety protocols.
The law also ensures whistleblower protections for employees at those companies.
The startup is piloting a new safety routing system in ChatGPT that can detect emotionally sensitive conversations and automatically switch mid chat to GPT 5 thinking, the model best equipped to handle high stakes situations.
The new parental controls let parents set quiet hours, disable features such as voice and image generation, and receive alerts if the system detects potential signs of self harm.
