Anthropic Launches Claude 4, Its Most Powerful AI Model Yet
Anthropic has released Claude Opus 4 and Claude Sonnet 4, its latest hybrid-reasoning AI models optimized for coding and solving complex problems.
Details:
The company describes Opus 4 as the “best coding model in the world” and says it is capable of working continuously on long-running tasks for “several hours.”
In benchmarks, it outperforms Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro, OpenAI’s o3 reasoning, and GPT-4.1 models in coding tasks and in using tools like web search.
Claude Sonnet 4 is the cost-effective and efficient alternative intended for general tasks. It replaces the earlier 3.7 version.
Due to their hybrid approach, the Claude 4 models offer both near-instant responses for straightforward queries and extended thinking for complex problems.
New capabilities include memory persistence to retain context across sessions, solving the so-called 'amnesia problem,' as well as parallel tool use and Claude Code integration into IDEs.
Both models are accessible via the Anthropic API, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Cloud’s Vertex AI. The Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise Claude plans include both models and extended thinking, with Sonnet 4 also available to free users.

Details Leak About Jony Ive's OpenAI Device Set for 2026 Release
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared new details about the upcoming device OpenAI is developing with former Apple design chief Jony Ive, which CEO Sam Altman calls “a chance to do the biggest thing we've ever done as a company.”
Details:
The device is described as pocket-sized, screen-free, and contextually aware. It may include only built-in cameras and microphones for “environmental detection.”
It could be slightly larger than Humane’s AI Pin but retain a form factor as compact and elegant as an iPod Shuffle, with one intended use case being wearing it around the neck.
The device may also connect to smartphones and PCs, to use their computing and display capabilities. Altman and Ive envision it as a “third core device” that complements laptops and smartphones.
Manufacturing is expected to take place outside of China to "reduce geopolitical risks", with Vietnam being the leading candidate.
The company aims to ship the devices "faster than any company has ever shipped 100 million of something new before," with the product expected to debut by late 2026 and mass production anticipated in 2027.

Go to the HeyGen website and sign up. Navigate to the Instant Highlights feature in the Labs section of your dashboard.
Paste the video URL or upload the video you want to create a highlight reel from.
Choose your input language (the video’s original language; this feature does not translate the highlights into another language).
Customize your instant highlight clips: specify the parts of the video you want to highlight, set the desired duration range and aspect ratio, and toggle captions on or off as needed.
Once that’s done, click confirm and wait for the videos to be generated.
Preview the clips and share or download them.

The latest in AI and Tech
Sam Bowman, an AI researcher at Anthropic, initially said that if Claude “thinks you’re doing something blatantly immoral, he uses command-line tools to contact the press, contact regulators, try to block you from the relevant systems, or do all of the above.”
The post led to both concern and criticism from users, so he later deleted it, saying it had been misunderstood and posted a clarification.
The new v0-1.0-md AI model, currently in beta, is optimized for front-end and full-stack web development and is available through an API.
Notepad is getting a new Write feature that leverages generative AI to help users “quickly draft text based on your prompt” or “build upon existing content with AI-powered assistance.” Paint is getting a new AI sticker generator, and the Snipping Tool is also getting two new features: Perfect Screenshot and Color Picker.
Amazon is currently testing AI-powered short-form audio summaries on select product detail pages in the U.S. This feature, accessible via the "Hear the highlights" button in the Amazon shopping app, provides users with brief, AI-generated overviews of product details, customer reviews, and related information from the internet.
