Anthropic Lands $13B as Valuation Soars to $183B

Anthropic has raised a $13 billion Series F round, pushing its valuation to $183 billion. The company says the funds will be used to grow enterprise adoption, deepen safety research, and support international expansion.

Details:

• Iconiq co-led the round with Fidelity and Lightspeed, joined by investors such as Altimeter, Baillie Gifford, Insight Partners, Ontario Teachers’, and Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, among others.

• Its new valuation nearly triples its previous $61.5B figure from March 2025, just six months ago.

• The company reported that annual recurring revenue jumped from $1B to $5B in 2025, driven by API usage and major enterprise adoption.

• Claude Code is a standout, generating more than $500 million in run-rate revenue, with usage growing over 10x in the last three months, according to the startup.

Anthropic’s new funding cements its place among the top AI players, even though CEO Dario Amodei admitted he wasn’t “thrilled” about taking money from sovereign wealth funds of dictatorial governments, noting that it’s difficult to run a business while excluding “bad people” from investing.

OPENAI

OpenAI Buys Statsig for $1.1B and Reshapes Leadership

OpenAI is acquiring product-testing startup Statsig in an all-stock deal worth $1.1 billion and making changes to its leadership team.

Details:

• Statsig’s founder and CEO, Vijaye Raji, will join as CTO of Applications, reporting to Fidji Simo, the former Instacart CEO who recently took over as CEO of Applications.

• Raji will lead product engineering for ChatGPT, the company’s AI coding tool Codex, and future applications OpenAI plans to build.

• The company’s Chief Product Officer, Kevin Weil, will move to VP of a new unit, OpenAI for Science, focused on building an AI-powered platform to accelerate scientific discovery, working closely with researcher Sebastien Bubeck.

• Srinivas Narayanan, OpenAI’s head of engineering, will become CTO of B2B applications. In this role, he will work with COO Brad Lightcap to strengthen ties with enterprise customers and guide product roadmaps for business tools.

The deal is pending regulatory review. Once it closes, all Statsig employees will also join OpenAI, though the startup will “continue operating independently and serving its customer base out of its Seattle office.”
