Tech Exec Predicts AI-Generated Girlfriends Will Create $1B Business 💸

Source: X

Tech executive Greg Isenberg, CEO of Late Checkout, predicts a massive new market for AI dating apps and "AI girlfriends." Isenberg shared insights from a meeting with a man in Miami who reportedly spends $10,000 per month on customized virtual partners.

Details:

  • Isenberg noted that the current market cap for Match Group, the company behind major dating apps like Tinder and Hinge, is $9 billion. He believes someone will likely build the "AI version of Match Group" and also make billions.

  • Platforms like Candy.ai and Kupid.ai already enable users to customize virtual partners, selecting physical attributes and personality traits.

  • A recent survey from Infobip found that nearly 20% of Americans have flirted with chatbots, with many motivated by curiosity or loneliness. However, 17% said they were unaware they were talking to an AI.

While the technology raises complex questions, AI-generated partners could indeed become a major new business in the years ahead.

AI RESEARCH

New Method for Editing AI-Generated Images by Dragging Them

Researchers from Nanjing University and Tencent have developed a new AI-based image editing method called “StableDrag”.

Details:

  • The StableDrag method enables users to adjust the placement of objects, figures, and other elements within an image while preserving the correct perspective and visual coherence.

  • StableDrag builds on previous editing methods such as FreeDrag, DragDiffusion, and Drag-GAN, and it outperforms them by a wide margin in benchmark tests.

  • For example, the technique can be used to change the viewing angle of the "Mona Lisa" by dragging her nose to a new position, as demonstrated in the provided image.

  • The tool works effectively across a variety of image types, including photos, illustrations, and other AI-generated content featuring subjects like people, cars, landscapes, and animals.

The researchers have stated that they plan to open-source the code in the near future. You can check out more examples of this tool in action here.

How to summarize your favorite podcasts with AI

If you're short on time to listen to your favorite podcasts, you can use AI to summarize them into a quick read.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Podbean

Here we’ll search and download the audio of the podcast episodes.

  1. Go to Podcastle and sign up for free

Select "Transcribe" and upload the audio. Once it is uploaded, right-click on it and select "Transcribe" again.

Select the number of speakers and the language and wait a few seconds.

  1. Download as PDF

Once the transcript is generated, click on “Export” and download it as a pdf

  1. Get the summary

Upload the PDF of the podcast transcript to ChatGPT and add the following prompt:

This is the transcript for a podcast episode. Generate a summary of the podcast following these guidelines:

- Organize the summary into distinct sections for each question.
- Summarize the main points from the answers in bullet points under each section
- Be very detailed in your answers and do not skip any key points.

*Note: Some podcasts provide transcripts directly on their websites, which would allow you to skip steps 1 to 3.
