ARC PRIZE FOUNDATION
ARC-AGI-3 Could Expose AI’s Biggest Weakness
A new benchmark from the ARC Prize Foundation is designed to test whether AI systems can truly reason through unfamiliar problems, highlighting a key gap between current AI models and human intelligence.
Details:
ARC-AGI-3 focuses on real time reasoning instead of memorization, placing AI agents in interactive, game like environments where they must figure out rules and goals without instructions.
The benchmark was created by François Chollet, who has long argued that most AI tests reward pattern recall rather than true intelligence and adaptability.
Tasks require agents to explore, form strategies, and complete objectives efficiently, with higher scores awarded for solving problems using fewer steps.
While humans can solve these challenges with relative ease, every frontier model tested scored below 1 percent: Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview hit 0.37 percent, GPT-4o reached 0.26 percent, and Claude Opus 4 managed 0.25 percent.
According to ARC Prize Foundation co-founder Mike Knoop, AI labs are paying close attention and already working to drive their models toward higher scores on the benchmark, recognizing that strong performance on ARC-AGI-3 could signal progress toward building the qualities and capabilities agents will need to do real-world work.

Google Launches Lyria 3 Pro Music Generation Model
Google has introduced Lyria 3 Pro, an upgraded music generation model that expands track length and creative control, pushing further into AI powered music production.
Details:
Lyria 3 Pro allows users to generate tracks up to three minutes long, a significant increase from the 30 second limit of the previous version.
The model offers improved control over music structure, enabling users to guide elements like intros, verses, choruses, and bridges directly through prompts.
The company says the model is trained on licensed and permissible data, including content from partners and YouTube, and is designed not to replicate specific artists.
All tracks created using Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro are watermarked with SynthID, the company's watermark for identifying AI-generated content.
Google brought music generation to the Gemini app with Lyria 3 just last month, and is now rolling out the Pro model there as well, though only for paid subscribers. It is also coming to Google Vids and ProducerAI, and on the enterprise side, to Vertex AI (in public preview), the Gemini API, and AI Studio.
